Gameez
Gameez had drifted away from the beach, not intentionally, just exploring when he realized that somewhere he'd gotten lost. The golden wolf with burning yellow eyes stares into the pitch black of the forest. A creeping mist slithers around the base of the tree trunks, dancing just outside of the forest's shadow as if they were bound there. Despite the faint sense of dread that tingles in his toes he decided to enter.
Here light was low, cast from various small to medium crystals that lay clustered at the base of tree trunks. Each one emitting faint blue lights. Or maybe it was white? Whatever. It was enough light for Gameez to see some things around him. He does not walk with haste. Rather he moves with great care; like the fog hovering over the ground(making it impossible to see his paws or the ground around them), he creeps. Going deeper and deeper inside until he can't recall where he first came from. Yellow eyes scrape around the woods. Looking for signs of light--a way out.. maybe even life of some kind. The silence hanging in the air was unnerving. Not a bird or cricket to be heard. Just his own footsteps and breath. To make matters worse, he begins to notice some of the crystals are flickering weakly before sputtering out into nothing. Even some of the trees looked sick. The brute shakes his head trying not to think too much. There was always a dead tree or two in a forest right?
He puts his focus on where he is walking. Hoping to find his way out. Waiting for something to happen--perhaps even to find someone.
Waiting, he was always waiting...
The thought has crossed his mind since the day he met Sundew on the beach and her talk of Gods. A part of him wanted nothing more than to believe that all of this could be very real. He could be, at this very second, walking the same ground many of gods had walked before. It was the dreamer in his heart-- but suspicious cynisim rears an ugly head. 'God to be? HA! More like delusional.' it sneers in his head. 'Your family didn't want you, why on earth would the gods want you?' his ears pull tightly to his crown, in shame; perhaps even a fraction of heart break as his hopes fall to pieces at his feet. "What am I doing here?" through his voice contorted with months of hurt and confusion falls a cry for help.
He was tried of being alone-- being nothing but alive. "You can stop hiding out you know... Just come out already! Or do the gods even exist?" ending in a snide and daring remark. Gameez mocks them openly, wondering if it may drawn them out. Mother had always said gods were very proud.
He waits for a response, ignoring the creeping feelings of childish stupidity.
