Desperation burned inside Zora as she awoke. A deep sleepy breath in started the alarms of caution. As she opened her eyes she understood the strange scents and the hammering of her heart. The cocoa and desert sand seem to mix and dance on the cape Zora appears to wear. This morning she lay, head cradled between creamy crossed legs. Her icy stare had opened level to the water. Her mind reeled for a logical explanation. How could this be? Last night she was alone. Why had she ventured off alone…again. Life was a series of alone times and not alone times according to Zora. She replayed the loss of former friends and family as she had walked on last night. The edge of exhaustion was ebbing in just as the rain began to splatter. She remembered spotting a strange tree. The barely visible blue glow had caught her attention like a lure. Most likely fungus attracting bugs. Sounds clever enough; worked on Zora too. The tree itself had grown over a boulder and covered her from the rain perfectly. A perfect place for tired legs to rest. She had learned to love the rain and it let her drift off eventually. She remembered everything perfectly, yet the truth threatened to make her heart hammer faster. How could she be here? Paws dipped in the lake. She sat up after a moment and looked over the clear lake back dropped by mountains. A small bird flew overhead letting out a shrill tweet. Her head jerked with the noise as eyes searched the sky. It was almost an undeniable need to find the source. Just to lock eyes and confirm the source. She caught sight of it flying and finally took a deep breath in. After a shaky exhale she spoke. This was just not like Zora, she felt completely out of control as her body began to shake just slightly. Her heart continued it’s pounding like a drum in her ears. She could almost swear the water on the tips of her paws was beginning to freeze just slightly. “I hope I haven’t gone crazy.”

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","fairyking"] As mortals continued to stream in, Oberon was gradually settling into the whole guide routine. This newcomer had arrived in one of his favorite locations of the mortal realm, Borealis Lake - its calm surface was most often mirror-smooth, with the crystals lining its bottom shining in the sunlight. At night it was even more beautiful - it would reflect the dark sky while those crystals glittered like stars, as if the moon had granted a pathway to her heavenly abode.
It was with some enthusiasm then that the Guide made his way to the lake. There seemed to be no great torment or urgency radiating from the mortal's aura, so he had decided to take the scenic route, using the earth to transport himself to a little wooded copse at the edge of the treeline before completing the final leg of his journey on foot. He emerged from the rustling conifers, a dark shape against the mountainous backdrop, and cast about for the location of his new charge.
Though the presence of such a large body of water made his earth connection a little fuzzy, it was not hard to find the new arrival. A white-and-sand coated wolf was resting at the water's edge, her forepaws just skimming its surface. As he drew closer he could see that she was in a state of mild distress, and he smiled softly - not at her anguish, but just at the familiar sight of a lost young wolf. Which he would hopefully be able to alleviate.
Oberon was just close enough to hear her murmuring to herself. "I hope I haven't gone crazy." Drawing in a breath, he made sure to rustle the grass and leaves beneath his paws, so as not to startle her with his approach. "You haven't," the Guide called out softly, lowering his head a little to look nonthreatening. He knew his size and coloration tended to intimidate new arrivals, so he always made it a point to advance as gently as possible. "My name is Oberon. I am to be your guide here." Ooc: Finally finished. I just got a bit carried away. Sorry for the awful writing though xD #ESL
The lake was pristine this morning as she had awoke. The calm water providing a soothing effect after her mind had been soothed by the traveling fowl. In her youngish days, water was her number one fear. It heckled her, laughed at her attempts to go past touching distance. Little by little she had conquered her demons. They seemed small compared to her loathing of water. She had battled them one at a time, her motto became to always make progress. She had certainly gained ground in the past on saving face and keeping her act together. This dawn was proving to be a difficult battle though.
After her initial words left her mouth she let out another forced breath. It was during her slow methodical inhale that her ears caught the forthright approach. Her breath caught upon turning toward the source of the sounds. Nonthreatening wouldn’t be her initial thoughts, but with his seemingly purposeful entrance she was inclined towards thinking that. She couldn’t stop staring at the contrast between the deep orange oceans of his eyes, to the color of his coat. Brindle being the first thing she would blurt out if asked to describe the color. But she knew somehow that he was not exactly the same as she.
She stood then not in fear but in preparation of the possible bad ending this meeting could come to. Still considering his demeanor she willed her body to remain relaxed. Her mind and heart urged quietly for her to remember how most males could be; at least where she was from. Fluffy ear flexed fully forward, while her mind attempted to process and access what he was saying. ”Here?! The one worded, exaggerated question seemed to slip off her tongue like a knee jerk reaction. It surprised even her that she was repeating what Oberon had last said that way. Zora’s subconscious could have informed her, for it seemed to feel the difference. This was where she was meant to be. But her mind was not fully understanding or aware of any of that currently. Thankfully the what, how and why suddenly didn’t feel as important anymore when she realized her emotions were moving down the tracks too quickly. They threatened to get the better of her, make her forget she was not invincible.
She decided to sit back down, tail curling around her right back leg. This had become instinct when her belly was visible. The scars on her belly were not something that she liked noticed. Her head dipped politely towards him and a weary smile appeared. When she spoke this time it was softer, ”My name is Zora. My apologies but if I am not dead, dreaming or on a crazy trip, where are you going to guide me Oberon?”

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","fairyking"] Upon hearing his approach the female rose to her feet, her demeanour alert and wary as she trained her pale gaze upon his significant form. "Please don't be alarmed," the Guide said with remorse, tipping an ear to the side as he offered a rueful smile. Still, this encounter was nothing compared with some of the other newcomers he had previously dealt with, so he just hoped that this lady would not escalate into distress. To him that would already be considered a good day.
"Here?!" Where is here, Oberon expected her to continue, but she didn't. Instead the mortal proceeded to settle herself on her haunches, arranging herself in a calmer manner, though her body language was still a little defensive. It was no matter, as it meant enough to him that she wasn't going to grow more agitated. That, he could definitely work with.
Then the female nodded to him in form of acknowledgement, to which he responded likewise in a mannerly fashion. She introduced herself as Zora, and then asked the question he had been awaiting. No matter many wolves Oberon had appeared to in the past and would appear to in the future, he would never not feel a sense of anticipation and expectancy at starting their journey with them. "Zora, I will guide you on your path to godhood."
"I am a god, as you shall be." Pausing to let his words sink ink, Oberon studied her face to see how he should proceed. "My rule is of Earth. Your journey will lead you to what aspect you will govern, as the divinity within you is awoken." With most of his charges the Guide would grant a little demonstration of his powers, and Zora was no exception. With a tug of his will Oberon raised a series of smooth, flat stones from the lakeshore, about the size of a wolf's paw - though his paws were significantly larger. They tumbled up the bank almost eagerly, and at the merest of thoughts he had them stacking themselves in order of size. A rather pointless, if fanciful presentation, but Oberon had long shaken off the notion that one's powers could only be used for such distinguished acts as defending the realm from evil, or other such noble deeds. Sometimes simple enjoyment was not a bad thing. Zora Talus | 396 | oh no dont worry about it, your post is perfectly fine!! your imagery is great <3 sorry about mine though orz |

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","socold"] Zora had learned to keep herself safe and hidden. Life and relationships in her formative years were well…lets just say less than friendly. Already dealing with the confusion of being in this new place, her mind was straining from the moment Oberon had appeared as well. He was not dominating towards her and then gentle nature that he spoke with reassured her. Could it be? What on this earth could have provided a fresher start. She had leaned forward as if in interest to the words spoke. path to godhood” Her mind reeled and it felt to her that the world was shifting under her paws. ”Godhood, me…me on a path to godhood… A glazed few moments happened as she attempted to piece everything together. Oberon, a book best not judged by cover, appeared to help her flow down a path to godhood. He was God, and she would be as well. Memories surfaced but none of them actually contained something that had been attained and held in as much grander to Zora. Immediately she knew that she wouldn’t quit, she wanted this future for herself. Deep down she knew it couldn’t be something that she did or had. She didn’t feel favored or special, yet this was the offer. Someone would have to kill her to stop the momentum with which her mind was racing ahead and hoping for. Not long after her arrival at this strange, yet, beautiful place, Zora had found herself thankful to be placed next to one of her former fears. No longer would she allow her mind to fear water. Water and this lake particularly she felt, would become dear hearted friends to cherish. Her own heart beginning to latch onto the idea and hope in earnest that this was not a strangely cruel dream. Dream. She snapped back to reality at the moment and straightened up her face and body. As she cleared her throat she thought it must have been quite unattractive for those “few” moments. Her gaze lifted in attempt to catch contact with Oberons eyes, wondering what he must be thinking of her. His words bounced in, bringing new insights and promise with them. Eyebrows almost comically rose as she turned hearing and seeing the stones tumbling up. They were moving as if on their own accord. Mouthing parting with a small ah sound as the stacked themselves before him. She shifted a tad closer toward Oberon eyeing the spectacle like a small child. Her normally placid face began a hue of emotions starting with confusion which had quickly turned to awe and then excitement. Though with the light flick of her tail beginning to show excitement, she readjusted herself, not willing to let go of her inner controls yet. A she went to speak the realization that her mouth had still hung half open hit her. ”I just..this is all so….unbelievable.” She sighed slightly almost dreamily. ”However this happened, I’m not sure I care to know how anyway, I’m thrilled. I want to know everything…if you’ll tell me? “ She had attempted to conceal her eager excitement, the inner reprimand was tough however. The happy effect though was powerful and hard to corral. ”An opportunity like this. It’s just unheard of I suppose.tags: Raywords: 536 notes:Sorry for delay and if this doesn't make exact sense please let me know xD Been one of those days I don't want to repeat again lol. [googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","fairyking"] The Guide couldn't help but feel a benevolent smile come to tug at the corner of his mouth upon seeing Zora's reaction to his little party trick. Her simple, childish wonder was touching to behold. This was one of the rare pleasures of Guiding - out of so many mortals, he wouldn't expect it of all of them to allow themselves the liberty to just... be amazed, but it was always refreshing when one did. For why shouldn't they be amazed? For a mortal to learn about the existence of a world beyond their own, where greater beings lived out their purposes for eternity... Oberon had been a god for a long time, but he could still look at it from a mortal's perspective and feel the gravity, the immensity.
"I'm thrilled. I want to know everything…if you'll tell me?" Though her words were carefully measured, Zora's enthusiasm was palpable through the quick frisk of her tail and the way her eyes had widened. "An opportunity like this. It's just unheard of I suppose."
"Ah, but that's where you're wrong, child. That is only what you've been led to believe." Though legends and tales of godhood were many, popular bedtime stories told to young ones, almost all were heavily embellished with undue exaggeration, leading the mortal race to brush them off as nothing but myth. Smoke and mirrors. In actual fact, Oberon had come to learn that many of them were indeed true - in their own ways.
"Many like you will fill this realm, and it would do you good to meet with them. Some may become your allies, and the support of others will benefit all of you." Perhaps the Guide was speaking a little more from personal experience here than he would ever let on. Having witnessed first-hand the chaos and destruction that could and would stem from many gods-to-be turning on each other, perhaps he was hoping to steer his new charge (and the rest of his mentees too) in a slightly more harmonious direction.
"I cannot tell you everything, for the knowledge of this realm is vast, and even I do not know it all," he continued, but there was no reprimand in his voice - just a twinkle in his orange eyes. "But I will encourage you to explore and learn about the lands you now live in. Keep your senses sharp and see what calls to you, as the Earth has called me. Your divinity lies within you, waiting to be awoken." Zora Talus | 419 | no worries friend it was a great post!! |

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","socold"] So very few times had she allowed herself to appreciate and awe at something. Not having to hide or mask it, even for a brief moment was freeing. Ears twitched with the next words of Oberon. Recalling easily the twisted tales told to all the young pups of her birth home, Zora inwardly cringed. The thing that kept most from believing this was all possible, due to the ugly stories, wrapped with half truths and wriggling lies. Simple mistakes? Maybe or maybe not. For now it mattered little. The hurdle though, of escaping the horrid images of pup hood tales, was a long reach. She reasoned Oberon couldn’t be like some of the monstrous stories. Although he was different, and powerful, he seemed as far away from the twisted images of any gods she had heard of. Imprints of those tales however lingered, when Oberon spoke, his words only proved to affirm her musings. ”Allies are never too many in number.” Pausing a few moments as her mind wandered toward divinity and the awakening he was speaking of. ”Thank you for your guidance.” A half smile appeared with the unintended pun for her guide. The next question she chewed on for just a moment before blurting on. “May I ask, how did you know the Earth was…for you?” She couldn’t help but ask, the curiosity springing like hares going forward Learning about the past could never harm your future in her guidebook. As an added bonus maybe this knowledge of her guide would help her on her own journey. tags: Raywords:254 notes: I’m just throwing this together, sorry for length. #germshavehold *commences lysol spraying* [newclass=.socold]height:420px;color:#E1DFD8;text-align:justify;padding:10px;width:440px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;background:#000;opacity:.5[/newclass] [newclass=.socold b]font-weight:700;color:#fff;text-shadow:-1px -1px #000;font: 12px Montserrat;[/newclass] [newclass=.socold i]color:#a27158; font: 10px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.socold::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #fff; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.socold::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.socold::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass]

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","ilostyou"] The sandy-coloured female thanked him sincerely, for which Oberon expressed his appreciation with a nod of his head. No matter how many times he'd have to induct a charge, it was worth it if they were truly grateful to him. Although a fake appreciation was probably one of the worst things, on the off chance he was able to detect it, or if he discovered it belatedly. Or maybe that was attributed to Oberon's distinct aversion to dishonest wolves in general. They rankled his righteous soul, perhaps.
A sheepish question interrupted his little tangent then, as Zora inquired as to how he had come to discover his innate link with the Earth that they stood on. With a nostalgic look in his eyes, the Guide settled his bulk on his haunches, curling his tail around to the side. "A long time ago I had fancied myself possessing the power of flight, or some kind of power that existed purely as thought, or something as intangible as space or time. But as I journeyed, I realised nothing really resonated with me as well as the Earth beneath my paws. Perhaps having that seed of Earth within me influenced my personality, too." Oberon paused. "But I should clarify that the experience is different for each wolf. Some find it a perfect match for them that clicks immediately. Others can't believe it when they first start to get a sense for it, but by and by it becomes a part of them." Which was, of course, an incredibly unhelpful thing for him to say - but unfortunately it was the truth. [attr="class","ilostyoubottom"] Zora Talus | 270 | oh man apologies for this as well, it's very late orz |

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","socold"] Her eyes lingered on Oberon after she spoke. The trust was coming so readily it scared her slightly. Males could pose threats in certain circumstances, it appeared that he was not planning on causing her any harm. The awe of his show, the power that he had….no maybe the power that he was, it caused her being peace. A feeling absent in her younger day; cowering herself, muttering a silent prayer to a silent god. Zora never knew for sure, ha, no one was ever sure; twisted tales made for blind stone hearts it appeared in most cases. Now this was her future and she was reveling in silently. Comprehending her meeting with Oberon was meant to be, regardless of how cliche she thought it was. The immense joy that was washing over had not crossed fully into her features. When he spoke of his own path, she couldn’t help but want the connection to blossom in her own ways. In a deep place, the search had begun a long time ago. Finding a place to fit it and belong among hatred and chaos, a driving force in a majority of her actions. Never perfect were the actions or decisions, leading her down a rocky life path. The possibilities were opened to her completely here however. Unable to tell if the tug she felt meant much at this point the knowledge that time alone would show the weave not yet sewn comforted her. She lowered her head before she spoke the words that she felt needed saying now. ”Oberon I am so grateful for you, the knowledge for guidance down the path I must take, is sorely needed. I’m not the swiftest in mind or body; so patience will be required of you at times I assume. I’m willing to learn though and consider the advice of a counselor; taking it deep to heart.” A quick gesture to the lake before she spoke again. ”I am in love with the view. The water view despite past experience is actually….quite stunning. I wish to explore the surrounding areas fully but I wish to reside within the sights surrounding. To see seasons, if such exists here, must be beyond imagination. Calling it home would be a pleasure.” Zora knew others would be able to see the beauty. Surely companionship was to be found in the future. The feelings of uncertainty regarding companions was hard to swallow down. This female though knew that packs and groups could be peaceful...it just depended on every detail it seemed. "I look forward to the coming days of learning and growing." tags: Ray words: 428 notes: I apologize for my writing as usual. I try not to go off crazily haha. [googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","ilostyou"] "You need not thank me, young one, though you are welcome to my advice - after all, I am here for that purpose. I am glad to be of service," Oberon responded kindly, feeling warm from all the sincere gratitude that Zora was bestowing upon him. Truly rare it was to meet someone so accommodating - some were bereft at the loss of their previous lives, tossed into this realm of the gods without warning or consent, yet the sandy-coated female seemed to be acclimatizing swiftly. Her good-naturedness would suit a pack environment well, he mused, though knowing that packs themselves were not concrete and hierarchical here the way they were on mortal lands. The Guide meant it in a way that suggested she would be well-suited to teamwork, which gods could and did lend themselves to rather well. Not that he had seen many of them in recent times. The god realms were so quiet.
Zora expressed her admiration of the lake's beauty, and her earnest excitement got him laughing heartily. "I agree, it is beautiful, though do not let yourself become too enamored with the lake before seeing the rest of the lands. Borealis Lake is a location dear to me, but I'd love for you to see the rest of your new domains before you truly decide to settle down." For there were many magnificent sights to see across the world she now lived in - a sea that glowed a luminescent blue at night, a field strewn with snowdrops as far as the eye could see, a veritable hemisphere of sky over the highest mountain range. All of which would make worthy dwellings, though the lake itself was admittedly excellent.
"Child, I will need to take my leave of you now, but be aware that you can always call on me for help." Lowering his head in a bow, Oberon made to stand up, readying himself to depart. "It was a pleasure speaking with you, Zora." And so having said his goodbyes, Oberon began to walk away, though as he drew further from her, his form melted into sand and blew away in the wind. He did so enjoy being Earth.
