Oberon continued talking, and she nodded along. “Noted. Thank you.” It was good to know there were better possibilities than the beach to settle. She’d give the land a look-around and see what she saw, she supposed.
He answered her question about finding her aspect, or seemed to try. The answer wasn’t as direct as she might have liked – it seemed like that would be a thing she had to discover for herself. He did give her a starting place, at least. What elements and feelings did appeal to her? Whatever it was, he seemed to believe she would find it – she’d feel drawn to it here. Given his wording, that was probably all the help he could offer as far as finding the focus of any power she might have. She supposed it was a help – of course it would be work to find such a thing. She’d see what she could do.
He asked if she had any other questions. She searched her mind, but the only things she could think of were things she could just as easily discover on her own. If she was meant to live here, she had much to do – find food and water sources, suitable shelter, a suitable land in general, discover her power, find trustworthy wolves and keep track of malicious hearts… Was there anything she was missing? Anything he could feasibly help with at all?
He then told her she could call on him when needed, and that the rocks and stones could hear her. She couldn’t help a snort at that. Was that so? She’d have to try it one of these days, just to see if it worked. In the meantime, if that really was a reliable way to summon him, she supposed she had no further need.
“I think my immediate needs are best left to be discovered on my own,” she concluded. “If I am able to find my aspect, do I call on you then? Or is that something I’m meant to develop on my own?” How would she know when she was in need of him/? Or would that also be an innate thing that she’d know-when-she’d-know?
