[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","neith"] She didn’t want to see him. She didn’t want to see anyone. All she could see, truly, was her mother, overlaid atop her own appearance, reflecting back at her from a pool deep within her. Cream atop blonde, splotch atop pristine fur – violet, watery eyes blending with forest-green serenity. She ducked her head, further curling in upon herself, raising a paw to scrape at her nose, blunted claws raking roughly over the sensitive spongey flesh. It was pain, yes, but it was not enough pain to drown out the sheer static that overrode her very being, shattering her into scattered pieces that held together only because of the coat they were wrapped within. Neith breathed shakily, and the world spun before her eyes. Who was Neith? What was Neith? Was this what she was? Was this why their love had never been enough – because she deserved to be worshipped? She clawed desperately at the pieces of her personality she had always taken for granted, but each fragment she touched further broke. “I am a god,” she said softly, slowly. Her tongue curled around each word, delicately tasting how they felt within her mouth, between her teeth. But – He had said something of other gods, had he not? And he himself was one. Neith breathed deep, gathered the air inside the spacious cavern that had always existed within her. Her tongue flicked out, soothing the bruised skin upon her muzzle. And she cast her eyes toward him, curiosity battling with caution. “You are a god,” she whispered, to herself. Then, louder, “What is your name?”She did not ask Why me? – did not allow the question to even breach the forefront of her mind. Something had shifted, something had settled, but even she did not know what the result was. Only knew that it was easier to breathe, that her veins sang with rejuvenating oxygen, that the great brute that had towered over her was suddenly made much smaller. He was not for her – but he did not need to be for her. She could use him the way her mother had used her. tags: Raywords: 353 notes: she was meant to run but the ghost of rubedo took her LMAO [newclass=.neith]height:400px;color:#E1DFD8;text-align:justify;padding:10px;width:440px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;background:#000;opacity:.5[/newclass] [newclass=.neith b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:700;color:#ab87db;font-size:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.neith i]color:#fff; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.neith::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #fff; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.neith::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.neith::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass]

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","fairyking"] The creamy-coated female continued on in such a fashion for a little while, clawing at her own muzzle as if it would help shock her out of her downward spiral - it didn't, and Oberon watched with no little amount of concern as her mental battle raged on.
The Guide was not well versed in calming wolves who were having... well, actual panic attacks. His calm demeanour was useful in helping newcomers overcome their initial distress just by offering them a steady energy to draw from as they struggled to grasp the reality of what was going on, but when their problem was an internalized struggle, Oberon was no better use than the rocks he commanded. He could not reach in and place a crystal of serenity in her mind, nor did he feel as if it was warranted. Such powers were always questionable to him - how did one know what was ethical, what was fair, what was acceptable? He was better suited for the physicality of Earth. It had chosen him, after all.
"I am a god," came her voice in a whisper, as if she was tasting the idea of it, rolling the concept around her mouth. Then finally, her fluttering breaths cumulated in a deep gulp of air, as if signaling that her mind had settled, her thoughts had stopped churning. She looked up again, lavender eyes sparkling in dark patches of black. When she blinked, for just a moment her visage reminded him startlingly of a skull.
"You are a god," she murmured again, as if in wonder. "What is your name?"
Cautiously he offered, "My name is Oberon." He did not say more.
Her attitude had taken a turn. A few turns, I should say, he thought wryly. Now she breathed more comfortably, and the panic he had seen in her light eyes felt... absent. It made him feel unsettled, but at least his immediate concern at her mental state had dissipated.
For someone who usually dispensed information ever so effortlessly, the Guide felt rather at a loss for words now. He knew not what sort of information she currently desired. There was, of course, much for her to learn, but it felt... out of place, to drop it like a dead fish at her feet unasked for. He would wait for her further inquiry. Perhaps now that she had settled her thoughts, she would be able to pinpoint what she wanted to know out of the wealth of information made available to him. [googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","neith"] Remember what he said. She cast her thoughts back, circling memories of what had passed only moments before. He had spoken of her godhood, that she held an aspect – but that he knew not what it was. She felt as if she knew. It had always been inside her, that dark, gaping hole. She had tried, without success, to fill it with love. And each time her love had not been enough. But what if it had never been a hole? What if it had only ever been an indent, swallowing her feelings for her without complain, complacent in the knowledge that one day she would recognize it. She felt it – felt it circle her fur, ebon scales shushing against her soft fur, the quiet whisper of its hiss in her ear. Its heat pits flared, sizing up the beast that stood before them. Not him, it told her. Not now.So there was a chance that one day this Oberon would be hers – but she could not rush things. Woodenly, creaking as if she were years older, Neith dipped her head in a shallow bow; it was the best she could do, given the circumstances. Suddenly the very drop of her head seemed a self-directed insult. But he had to believe. “Thank you, Oberon,” she said, eyes soft, words soft, peering up at him from beneath creamy lashes. “I thought this a dream, but I see the truth of it now.”She straightened, smiled at him, the shy curl of a maiden toward her first love. “I’m sorry for my earlier actions,” she said. The shadow serpent coiled tighter around her heart, burrowing its snout against the left ventricle. “Have you any other words for me, that I might know how to discover my power?”tags: Raywords: 296 notes: i didn't write a lot lmao [newclass=.neith]height:400px;color:#E1DFD8;text-align:justify;padding:10px;width:440px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;background:#000;opacity:.5[/newclass] [newclass=.neith b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:700;color:#ab87db;font-size:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.neith i]color:#fff; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.neith::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #fff; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.neith::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.neith::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass]

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","fairyking"] A strange look had passed over her countenance, though Oberon knew not of what exactly had caused it, nor what it signified. Only that it made him feel a little uncomfortable, deep inside, as he had felt earlier when he'd encountered the deep cavern that seemed to reside within her. She inclined her head to him almost stiffly, to which he warily responded in kind.
Then she directed her eyes up at him again and that seemed more familiar, reminiscent of the coquettish way she had gazed at him just a short while prior - though with what had transpired between then and now, time almost didn't make sense being so short. It was vaguely disorienting, though he made an effort to keep his expression relatively neutral. Like he'd begun to realise earlier, whatever her power was, it radiated danger and would definitely bear watching. And as such, he needed to make sure she didn't run. Even if it meant acquiesceing to whatever strange ideas she'd get into her head next.
"Have you any other words for me, that I might know how to discover my power?" Though her demeanour now harkened back again to something of the wolf who had tried her best to charm him to her side, there was something about the tone of her voice that felt... premeditated. The Guide couldn't put his paw on the exact thing that was making his fur prickle, though, so he instead focused on her question.
"I advise you to take your time and explore the land," Oberon responded. "See what you feel drawn to, as in these lands the godhood within you will respond to its true aspect." The Guide looked over his shoulder at the border of the fields where distant trees began to pepper the territory's edge. "You may find others as you travel, and I would suggest you make some alliances. There is much in this realm to be accomplished together." [newclass=.fairyking]height:435px;background-color:#000;color:#fff;opacity:.5;margin-top:10px;text-align:justify;padding:15px;width:420px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;[/newclass] [newclass=.fairyking b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:900;color:#ac5d1d;font-size:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.fairyking i]color: #eb771d; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.fairyking::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #2A2A2A; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.fairyking::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.fairyking::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass] [googlefont=Open+Sans]

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","neith"] ’Find what you are drawn to.’But what if, she wanted to ask. But what if it has always been inside me? What if it has already crawled out from between my teeth? What if it upon me now, slick with spittle, black-scaled, yellow-eyed? She did not think he would answer her query – did not think he would find her questions appropriate. There was something solid about him, something that suggested he was a creature so easily bent. No, she thought. He would not bow, could only ever be made to kneel. But she wasn’t strong enough yet – not against a fully-fledged god. So she dipped her head once more at his words, the action easier this time, more fluid, though the bitterness was more acrid upon her tongue, almost like the lingering taste of vomit. “Thank you,” she said softly. “I will do as you say.”Alliances – yes, she would need them. And perhaps, she might – but no, she caught the thought between her jaws, crushed it until it burst, life blood flooding her mouth. She would not search for an equal love. Only one that could love her unconditionally. No, many. So much love that her serpent could feast upon hearts for the rest of its days. She was done with her abstinence, her desperate desire to prove herself – whereas before she had abstained, now she would devour. tags: Raywords: 230 notes: gonna end this here <3 (and I'll give myself the 10 for completing the thread lol) [newclass=.neith]max-height:400px;color:#E1DFD8;text-align:justify;padding:10px;width:440px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;background:#000;opacity:.5[/newclass] [newclass=.neith b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:700;color:#ab87db;font-size:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.neith i]color:#fff; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.neith::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #fff; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.neith::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.neith::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass]
