Packs are often the bread-and-butter of any wolf site. However, when the focus is on becoming gods, it's much harder for an individual to sacrifice their own potential ascent to help others. Likewise, the realm of the gods by its very nature is not conductive for true pack forming. It shifts and shapes itself as it pleases, with places disappearing and reappearing without warning.
So how do packs work?
[attr="class","boopsie"]packs
Packs will only have territory available in the mortal world. To be formed, there must be at least three (3) wolves willing to form the pack. Three wolves are required to securely patrol and mark the territory as theirs as well as hunt effectively. And, should the pack leader become unable to fulfill their role, leadership will pass to the next wolf in command. This keeps the pack from immediately dissolving should a leader's player become inactive.
Beyond that, players are allowed to shape the individual packs as they wish and are free to set up a special pack thread in the board dedicated to it. Likewise, when a pack is formed, the board their territory resides on will be marked as claimed.
Once enough wolves have gathered to form a pack, the member who will be playing the leader will need to fill out the appropriate form in the Service Center.
[attr="class","boopsie"]dissolution
A pack may break apart due to a number of circumstances. If a leader ascends to godhood and has not left behind a suitable leader, infighting may lead to the pack splintering. Should the bulk of the pack become gods around the same time, the pack will likewise dissolve. And, should the pack be unable to replenish its number, it may find itself driven extinct.
Should a pack lose control of an area, the board will be re-opened for claiming, though members of the old pack may re-establish it if they wish. Any sub-boards created by a pack during its claim upon a land will continue to exist even after the pack is gone, as a reminder of those who came before.
