The field had been huge, bursting with colour and life when Kore had first broke through the treeline. The brief sound of rushing water in the distance reminded her that the waterfall lay beautifully there still, and she had briefly wondered if at any point had the water ever ran dry? She doubted it, but Kore knew better than to just assume. So she left it open in her mind, maybe she would stumble across a wolf one day who was old enough to know. These lands remained unclaimed ever since she had been born, and though her family did not go by the title of "Pack", Kore supposed that they still were. Her parents had travelled with their friends, and each of them had ended up coupling up and producing their little ones - Kore being one of those little ones.
Ever since, it was these meadows and trees that had been her home.
Stepping forward through the flowers, Kore's bright blue eyes peered upon all the colour and a delighted grin blossomed upon her face. This was her home, though she knew there was more out there to see. One day, Kore told herself, one day she would have enough confidence to leave the attachment she held for the land and for her family. This day however, was not it. Kore's white paws made their way through the rows of flowers, inching towards where one of the boulders lay just before the waterfall. Each ear, a particular flower bloomed in the foliage around the boulder and she could only grab it from the height. The ghostly girl leapt up upon the harsh surface, her eyes briefly flickering down to the surface of the boulder - the splashes from the waterfall had made it particularly wet that day, but she didn't mind. It was a nice touch against her paws to the warmth that wrapped itself in the air.
A vibrant grin was then on her face as she inched closer to the flower, her paws fidgeting with excitement - her mother would be delighted this year. This year it was brighter than ever, and it was hers. Leaning down, Kore didn't notice that a chunk of the boulder was less stable than it usually was, and as her mouth went to grasp the stem of the flower Kore's paw touched down on the loose rock. An unexpected yelp bubbled from her throat as her paw slipped, and the rest of her unsuspecting body tumbled off the side of the boulder and suddenly, the waterfall did not just have rushing water - it had a rushing wolf.
Her body struggled in the air to right herself, but it all went too quickly for Kore to think of some miraculous self-saving plan. Plummeting down towards the pool of water, Kore's blue eyes widened though a short, thrill-loving laugh escaped her throat just before she hit the surface of the water. The force of the fall sent Kore further down into the depths, her paws pushing out to try and pull herself back up. In all her rushing panic, Kore didn't realise that no longer was the surface above her that she was trying to reach, crashing with water. A loud gasp escaped Kore's mouth as she resurfaced, a hacking cough that expelled water was next as the soaked wolf regained her bearings.
Darkness?
Kore kept herself afloat as her chest heaved, her blue eyes looking around at the sudden darkness that encased the land. It had been broad daylight when she had fallen, but now that she had resurfaced - it was the dead of night. She blinked as she realised there was no waterfall behind her with rushing water falling from it's heights, and Kore made a hum in the back of her throat. This was... strange. This was... not right, was it? Kore swam towards the land, once there she drew herself from the water and shook her fur out. Water sprayed everywhere as she managed to look around better from where she now stood on solid ground. Yes, this was not the end of the waterfall, seeing as that there was no waterfall in sight.
It was not her home, and Kore was stunned. Slightly panicked, but mostly stunned as she stood there trying to figure out what had happened from her slip from the boulder to resurfacing in the water.

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","morpheus"] Another in the lake. Morpheus wondered if it was something like mischief that drove the land to draw his mortals in so inelegantly. Not that he truly thought the magics of the divine had a true conscious – but he had to wonder if the great unknown that chose and directed and gifted had some sense of identity. And he wondered if that identity might not find such clumsy entrances funny. Something like a wry grin tweaked his lips as he padded slowly to the edge of the lake. He breathed deep of the air, the scent of wet wolf intermixed with something more divine coming to him in one drawn breath. This newcomer’s power, whatever it was, was of a similar nature to Vidar’s – the same base layer, he thought. Of course, the poor wretch had not yet called for Morpheus, and so while the scent of this mortal’s power was familiar to him, it was still a smell he could not label. Better than the inky darkness of some of the creatures he had encountered, though. He watched her wade to shore from a patch of shrubs, head ducked down almost to his paws so that the tips of his horns would not stretch up above the foliage – not that horned prey was unnatural, but certainly keratin stained cerulean was unlike anything a mortal had ever encountered. Of course, the closer she drew, the more he began to suspect she herself was not of common stock – it was the face of her, dampened and darkened with water, but the sheer black markings upon her face stood out in the white of her coat. The dark curls of fur lent a ghostly shadow to her ice-blue eyes, and Morpheus breathed out, remembering Thalarctos. Lucky for this mortal, to have come after he had been slain. He doubted her arrival would have been as smooth had she landed in a lake frozen over with ice spread by a deranged god bear. At last, she reached solid ground. A sharp shake sent water droplets scattering from her pelt like a thousand stars, only adding to the majesty of the lake at night. He wanted to let her enjoy her surroundings, truly, but he had a duty to perform. And it wasn’t as if she would ever leave this place. Carefully he extracted himself from the bushes he had hidden beneath, easing his horns out with a practiced ease so that they might not snag in the branches. Then, in a slow trot, he moved toward her, making no attempt to hide his movements or his approach. It was better for her to see him, to absorb what he was, before he had reached her. He’d had enough bad experiences of wolves immediately jumping to a wrong conclusion, thinking he was one meant to harm – when, really, all he wanted to was help. Of course, in the dark of the night, he was easily seen. Had it not been his horns, it would just as easily have been his thick white coat or his clear blue eyes that gave him away. True, he was not an overly large god, but then he did not need to be. He was The Dreamer, after all. One whose expertise did not lie in fighting. At last, when he had drawn near enough that only a few strides separated, he dropped his head in a bow. It was a common greeting of his, a show of respect and peace. “Hello,” he said, voice feathery and gossamer, as if it might tear in two at any moment. “I am glad you are here.”[attr="class", "godling"] tags: Korewords: 604 notes: god this is garbage i'm sorry ;; [newclass=.morpheus]max-height:440px;color:#E1DFD8;opacity:.8;margin-top:470px;text-align:justify;padding:15px;width:470px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:900;color:#F0F0D8;font-size:12px;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus i]color:#C0D860; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #2A2A2A; width:1px; [/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass][googlefont=Open+Sans]

As water dripped from her body, Kore's eyes still stuck to the night time ridden land. It was beautiful, even in the darkness, for not all of it was drowned in black but with the light of the moon to illuminate parts of it. As her eyes slowly moved across the land, her blue eyes landed upon a creature that she was certain had been from one of her tales. But this was real, wasn't it? Kore thought it was. That waterfall incident was not a figment of her imagination, no one would be able to tell her otherwise. Horns that twisted and a body coated in thick white fur, the blue-eyed creature was certainly a point of interest.
Kore felt excitement bubble up within her as he drew closer, though he was not exactly like one of the creatures that she swore were real, he was close enough. The drenched she-wolf took a step forward with intrigue as he spoke, and she couldn't help the vibrant reply of, "I knew it!" Kore's voice was light and warm, a bubbling laugh escaping her. "No feline tail and the horns aren't quite antlers, but details, details!" The young lady mused as she tilted her head, heavy tail waving behind her as she took him all in.
"Oh! Forgive me, you approach with politeness and manners and here I am bursting in your face!" Kore tutted at herself before she dipped her head to him, blue eyes wide and sparkling with curiosity. Had it been her sister here, she was certain her sister would be running the other away with disbelief. Kore was the dreamer, the one with the over-active imagination with the out of this world creatures. This was... this was just like of her tales. "I may sound ignorant as I ask," Kore started bashfully, a sheepish but excited smile blossoming upon her unique features, "where exactly is here?" The she-wolf inquired curiously, her nose twitching as she looked to the horned brute.

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","morpheus"] The intensity of her voice, coupled with those ghostly blue eyes momentarily caused Morpheus some inkling of concern. He had just finished with one ice-eyed mortal, who spoke words that threatened to tear his skin from his body. And now this one knew of him? He—didn’t know how he felt about that. Even as she carried on, about catlike tails and horns instead of antlers, he stared at her, face caught between bemusement and wariness. Of course, on a creature of divinity, the expression did nothing to leech away from the godly presence he presented. But it certainly dampened it, made him immediately seem less unflappable and more—mortal. A dangerous position to be in, that faraway side of him that rarely reared its head these days said. He disagreed, naturally; this wolf had not the sense of Asta, had not the slow-cutting eyes, the precise words to pluck and pick. And she further proved it as she verbally tumbled over herself, reminding him more of an excitable pup than any great schemer. Bursting in his face? Certainly, she was like some great wave, cresting higher than he had anticipated and bearing down on him with the surging power of the sea at its back. But he was quickly deciding that she was not harmful, no. Eccentric, talkative, overly—something, yes. But she didn’t intentionally mean to hurt him, and he took that as a type of kindness, relaxing marginally as her onslaught finally began to slow. In the face of her final words, he found himself with quite a bit to answer, a few questions of his own to ask, and – no idea where to start. Well, he had an idea. But providing guidance would trap him in answering questions, perhaps with no ability to ask his own. Still—he was nothing if not helpful. He would not be a guide if he wasn’t. “Here,” he intoned, voice smooth as silk, something like amusement rolling along its edge, “is a land of divinity. It is not normally known to mortals." He offered her a kind look, assurance that ignorance was not a flaw to be hidden. “If it has a name, I am not aware of it. But that you have been drawn here means that godhood has kindled within you, and your ascent is assured.” (Something pricked at him: was it truly guaranteed?) “I am Morpheus, the Dreamer. What is your name?”Hesitantly, he added, “And how do you know of me?”[attr="class", "godling"] tags: Korewords: 415 notes: sorry kore he just got finished talking to a snake so he's kinda unnerved LOL [newclass=.morpheus]max-height:440px;color:#E1DFD8;opacity:.8;margin-top:470px;text-align:justify;padding:15px;width:470px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:900;color:#F0F0D8;font-size:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus i]color:#C0D860; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #2A2A2A; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass] [googlefont=Open+Sans]

She knew that maybe she should tone down the intensity of her stare upon his frame, but Kore was just so intrigued. Though he seemed to be a bit put off by her, Kore let it simply wash away - here she was in the presence of something otherworldly, and it was her seemingly making another put out. Inwardly, Kore giggled to herself. She certainly did have quite the fall, didn't she? If she were to tread back over to where she had resurfaced, would she find herself back with the boulder and the meadows? Briefly, her eyes flickered to the water and her dampened features were graced with curiosity, before she couldn't resist holding her gaze back from the creature with horns.
Upon looking back at him, Kore noticed immediately that he seemed to be more comfortable with her now, and a small, delicate smile blossomed upon her features. That was better. He was speaking then, and she was wrapped up in a sense of safety, of calm - like she was as light as a feather and Kore tilted her head as she listened to him. Suddenly, the blue in her eyes seemed to brighten as she realised the words that he was speaking and what kind of meaning they seemed to hold. Kore's paws fidgeted then, her black and white body buzzing with interest. Before she could start the inevitable enslaught of questions, the kind featured brute was speaking against and Kore was once more drawn.
The land was unnamed, so did it simply just exist? Surely, someone had to have named it? When one found a land, they tended to name it something, or perhaps that wasn't how it worked in this divine land. Kore's nose twitched curiously as she wished to question him further, but then he spoke his latter words and Kore remained silent. Godhood was within her? Kore's blue eyes lowered momentarily, and she wondered if that was why she was so... strange. Not that it mattered, not really - why should it? She was who she was, and she was happy with that - but maybe, just maybe, that's why she had been called Looney? Had they sensed this apparent "different" part of her? Kore looked up through her lashes towards the newly named Morpheus, the Dreamer, and her tail swept behind her almost bashfully, "Kore," came her soft, airy response. "My name is Kore," why did she feel so... shy, now?
He spoke of her apparent godhood and suddenly she was drowning in self-doubt.
Upon Morpheus' hesitant question, Kore's laughter bubbled from her throat as she tilted her head to the side as one shoulder lifted in a little shrug, "well... not you specifically," she clarified, "I have this overactive imagination, or that's what they called it. I "imagined" creatures of all sorts, ones that didn't really exist or seem possible in my home. I believed in gods and ghosts, creatures of oddities, other worlds and things that were just... not normal." The she-wolf answered Morpheus in a light tone. "When I was little, I swore to my parents that I saw a wolf who had antlers and a feline tail. Which... is quite similar to you, expect your tail is a wolf tail and the antlers are horns," a slight laugh escaped her as she sighed, "I was told that I was crazy, or looney, but I suppose that it isn't so looney after all." Kore grinned at him cheekily, blue eyes bright, "seeing as... you're standing infront of me, looking as you do, and the fact I fell into the water and resurfaced in another land," her tail began to wag once more, less heavy than before as her fur started to dry.
"Does this mean that you're a god, Morpheus? That you ascended?" Kore questioned with intrigue.
However, she couldn't help the next question that flowed from her mouth, "and why hasn't anyone named this land, then? Nameless! The horror, the detachment!" She drawled dramatically, but smiled at him playfully nonetheless. "This is just..." Kore trailed off, lifting her head to the sky as she looked at the darkness, the stars, and she wondered then if her brothers could see the same stars that she did, or whether they were different ones entirely.

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","morpheus"] The ease with which she interacted lent something of a smile to his lips, eyes crinkled in the affectionate expression of an indulgent father – because he was countless years upon years older than her. A single breath from his mouth in the god realm had likely passed slower than all the days she’d lived as a mortal. But it was her excitable countenance, the way she bounced verbally, that truly aged him. He felt the same sense of protectiveness that he had felt with Pepper and Leyda and Vidar – though Vidar had been less young charge and more equal tragedy. ‘Equal tragedy’ – like the loss of his mortal life was as easily brushed aside as the loss of Morpheus’ memories. After all, you had to remember what you had loss to truly feel its absence. And Morpheus had done well for himself, piecing together each interaction held with his mortals, until he was patchworked together and – not final, no – but much more complete than the empty shell he had first awoken as. He considered her words with a solemn expression, masking the tinge of disappointment that pricked him as she explained that she’d had many a fanciful dream. So not him, then. But she had shown a natural draw toward divinity. It would have been easy to say she was destined for this inevitable end, that her path had always led toward their meeting – but that would have too easily waved aside all those who had learned of their divinity with shock and resistance coloring their responses. That she could so easily cast off her old life, step willingly into the belief of himself and the world that surrounded him, spoke only to her openness and adaptability. But he’d let her think she was drawn here because of the inevitable, that intangible force called Fate. It gave the mortals comfort; it certainly made him feel better. “You aren’t crazy,” he agreed pleasantly. “Eccentric, perhaps, but there is nothing wrong with that.” He paused, then, to consider her question. Had he ascended? Or had he been birthed with the world itself? Without memories it was too easy to believe that he had come alive at the same time as the god realm, as divinity had molded him from the land itself. But he knew that was wrong, for all that it might have elevated him in her eyes. “Yes,” he said. “I’m a god. My ascension was long ago. So long ago I can’t remember,” he said with a lopsided smile. That was the truth, though it left out the most important part: that he couldn’t remember anything beyond a few months back, that everything beyond was a murky life that had long ago muddled itself into an indecipherable mess. She didn’t need to know that. Of course, she seemed easily enough distracted, easily led from topic to topic like a child anxious to be directed. He offered her a small grin at her obvious dramatics, though his voice was humorously solemn as he spoke: “Perhaps it does not want to be named.”It made sense to him. The world was itself something of a living thing, prone to an alien sort of sentience that both astounded and dumbfounded Morpheus in equal measure. But it was wonderful, in a way – that a place like this could hold some sense of self felt more appropriate than it just being an unknowing and unfeeling lump of land. “But we have names for the places within it. This,” and he gestured out across the lake, glittering with a thousand stars, “is called the Borealis Lake.”-----------------[attr="class", "godling"] tags: Korewords: 601 notes: i enjoy her exuberance LOL. morph deffo appreciates it!
