Note: This prey is aggressive and will attack the first wolf it spots. Stay hidden until at least two have gathered to take down this beast. [attr="class","hunt5"] The Black Forest stunk of wolves. The sow knew their kind – knew of the children she had whelped, and they had slaughtered. Knew of their flashing fangs, their slashing claws. And she knew also of their blood, of how a tusk through the rib could ruin a wolf, make it stumble and fall.
And die – trampled by her, gored by her.
Some might call her a vengeful spirit, for there was nothing left of her mind beyond the overwhelming desire to kill. Within the god realms, that was difficult – it was too easy for them to escape.
But here – here they were mortal. And she would have blood.
She walked slowly through the forest, head down, snuffling amongst the roots and leaf litter, searching out scents that she might follow.
Her hide glowed a threatening charcoal grey, and her beady eyes gleamed gold in the dim light. But it was her divinity that shone strongest in the gloom – it rang out across the forest, flowed upon every breeze that passed by. She reeked godhood, and had she not wandered from her home within the godly realms, she might have one day ascended to become a deity of her kind.
But, no, she wanted revenge. She wanted blood – and blood would spill, whether it was her prey’s or her own.

Her travels carried her into the Black Forest, and she frowned at all the darkness that surrounded her. Well, of course it was dark in here, but this forest was so unlike her old home. Perhaps the darkness meant it was easier to conceal herself, and perhaps those crystals were beautiful in a way, but it was almost choking. Still, she could probably get used to it…in time.
Besides, something had happened to her recently. Something she couldn’t explain. She didn’t notice when it first came upon her, but she had come to realize that she could sense things. Rabbits, squirrels, a pair of young deer, many kinds of bird. She could sense them without her physical senses, and this meant she took more notice of prey than she ever could before. The implications of this had yet to be fully realized, but it did dawn on her that feeding herself and others was going to be much simpler from now on. This is what her guide had meant, with his words. It had to be. This was her aspect finally calling to her.
Her thoughts were hushed when she sensed another presence entirely. Not with her newfound skill, but with her eyes. A charcoal glow surrounding…was that a boar? Hmm. She slipped behind a tree, crouching down and trying to remain unseen for the moment. Boars were vicious, difficult prey in the best of times and the most normal of circumstances, and this was no ordinary boar. This was like the elk, and the rabbits. She certainly stood no chance alone.
But…maybe there would be others? Two wolves had joined her for the elk, and she could feel her soul being tugged toward the boar with the now-familiar otherness that accompanied several beings she’d met and discovered here. Maybe other wolves would be likewise called, and they could go after it together. For now, though, she would wait and track it, and do her best to keep hidden until the odds were more in her favor.

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","socold"]
It seemed that this day was not going to be the peaceful copy of yesterday that she was hoping for. With the revelations she had just been through, she had hoped to find a light meal this morning and set out. The heart that beat inside was brimming with happiness on the start of her exploration. Though she had tried to remain focused and alert, she couldn’t help but follow the different…happy, thought strings and imaginings in her mind. The need for food, originally that is what led her towards the woods from the lake shore.
As she had walked on though the darkening seeming foreboding and her body became more alert to the sounds and sights around her. The beginnings of her life crept back into her mind slowly at first and then at break neck speed. I’m a moment of weakness she could feel herself quickly and quietly fleeing towards a covering. It felt out of body as she lowered herself, ears flattened with no hesitation. Something felt…unnatural and unworldly. She took account of herself and peered of from the covering which consisted of a fallen tree. The rotting tree was not much taller than she laying down. Amazingly the growth of plants coming to the available sunlight, exposed by the fallen tree, was easily past Zora’s shoulders. She knew though that the covering was not absolute.
Peering above the foliage she hadn’t spotted anything immediately wrong or different though. Four almost white paws dug into the earth as the sandy brown topped female began to calm herself. That noise! An alarm bell dinged immediately in her brain as her ears picked up the noise of the boar. Ears strained forward as she lowered herself protectively into the log. Muscles strained with her attempt at perfect stillness as she stared forward.
Fear attempted to rise within her but she steeled herself firmly to stillness. She thought, “If I am to be a God, I will not let this end in your favor.” Immediately she wished for another or a few others. The strength of many is better than the lone wolf. She scolded herself inwardly for coming this way with no prior knowledge of the area, horrible idea. Perfectly still she tried to be but with the sound of Quarzt approaching she turned ever so slightly to reveal herself. She felt the truth somehow, little by little, this was meant to be. The luck couldn’t be better, she knew two could go better than single handed. However…she still wanted to wait. Hoping that the shewolf saw her she turned her eyes back on the boar, more ready than a few moment ago. She wanted this badly.

[attr="class","hunt5"] The wolves came to her – slow, steady, like leaves carried upon a stream. She did not know where they were but she knew they were there; it was the sudden quieting of the forest that lent proof to that claim. At least one, maybe more. But the sow was a cunning creature. And she knew her hide held natural protections against wolven teeth – the bristles upon her back formed a natural barrier and beneath that a leathered skin layered atop cords of muscles. She was armored, compared to the soft-skinned deer they typically hunted. So let them come to her. She would gut them, gore them, tear them in two much as she might a fawn. For she was something fiercer than they: a creature who fell upon any in its path, capable of gorging upon plant life and offal alike. Let them come, she thought. And she continued her way slowly down the trail she trod, acting as if she was blind, senseless, unknowing toward their appearance. ooc: roll link. did a flat roll on whether she noticed anything or not. she noticed. thankfully she couldn't quite figure out where anyone is, but she's expecting attacks now. Pepper Four slender limbs carried Pepper quickly and quietly along the crystal-lit undergrowth of the forest. Her tall yet scrawny physique remained expertly crouched with each feathery pace forward. She didn't like leaving the now-familiar Cradle, but an unmistakable scent had called to her once more. It was like the bull elk from her first hunt in this odd realm or the rabbits merely a few days ago. Behind the tantalizing smell, however, was a terrible musk. Boar. She didn't have to lay eyes on its bristled hide to identify that pungent odor. This fact inspired a slow boiling fear to surface in the female's stomach. Usually, she could be quite the experienced huntress - blocking out anything but the most keen of focus. With today's target being a swine, though, it was unnerving to say the least. These sharp-tusked, aggressive creatures had always been forbid by her mother. The matriarch had told Pepper they were far too dangerous for even the both of them to risk.
It was tempting to turn tail and head back 'home'. She wasn't above backing out and simply going for an unspectacular wood mouse or two. The skeleton-etched canine wasn't one to risk injury over something so trivial and unplanned. Lithe body began to slink into a 180 before. She would of continued, too, if not for the glimpse of obsidian fur caught in her peripheral. Quartz was nearly impossible to spot among the darkness of the forest. It was only due to a faint, blue glow of a crystal and her recognizable scent. It was a relief to see the calm female here; even if these weren't the best circumstances. Pepper altered the placement of her paws once more to send herself hovering over to her previous hunting partner. It was only once she got close that the second wolf was noticed. The salt-pepper mortal didn't know this stranger, but perhaps Quartz did? In any case there was no room to ask seeing as the sow was beginning to continue down the path.
A small smile was passed toward the onyx hunter as Pepper continued past. She took-up position on the opposite side of Quartz as compared to the light-coated canine. Her stilt-like appendages expanded and contorted to keep at the flank of the gilt - a few yards out. She wasn't sure if this specter was dull or sharp, but, in either case, the pig commanded respect. She would have to be quick, precise, and cautious if this was to go as well as the other spirits. There was still a knot of fear that couldn't be dislodged, but besides that Pepper was the image of focus. Her stalking steps continued. One. Two. Three more paces before action struck as quick as lightning. Her agile body dived sideways, ivory incisors agape, until distance no longer separated the two. She would attempt to snag the ghost right behind the fleshy ear whilst keeping her body parallel with the swine. This was to both apply a forceful bite as well as try to stay behind those fatal tusks.

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","callisto"] Callisto had been ecstatic, first leaving the woodland she had been teleported to. It was the first step toward returning to her reality and picking up where she had left off. The darkness of a new forest consumed her in welcome, concealing her until her movement was the only discernible part of her being. This new land lacked the air of the previous, drowned in darkness and time but still natural. Its peculiarity wore the form of curious glowing crystals that lit her path among the ancient wood instead. Ease draped over her form here, as sure and comforting as a mother’s love. She resisted it, stubbornly and childishly. She did not need to start feeling as though she was at home in a land largely unknown to her. Besides, she had a home and she would make it there. A deep breath was taken to compose herself, and a scent unlike any she had ever encountered before joined it. Unnatural, like the wolf with horns, she thought. Maybe not in a way that she could see yet since she wasn’t at the site, but it held an uncanny quality that made her fur stand on end. And, beneath it, a menacing musk that was almost familiar. She was frozen, caught on the edge of recollection. And then she remembered a memory from her past formerly left untouched. A boar had killed the patriarch’s son, quite literally slicing him open on a tusk. Copious amounts of blood gushing from his open chest, he had stumbled away from the scene as to not distract the others from the hunt. He had died alone. And the lying fucker deserved it. The spiteful thought came unbidden, as they often did, and she shook her head before any more memories resurfaced. The seed had already been planted anyway. She would do what the patriarch’s son couldn’t and take down this boar and live. Loping forward, her tongue lolling from her maw, Callisto emerged from the undergrowth just in time to witness the first attack. A seemingly emaciated wolf struck, as quick as lightning and as intent on killing the terrible creature as she was. Good. She registered the two other wolves lurking in her peripheral vision but paid them no mind. What was important now was the sow. She careened in its direction, counting on the off-white harasser to have given the boar distraction enough to not notice her approaching. Fear coiled and writhed in her gut like a snake, and her attempts to banish it proved ineffective. Maybe it was a good thing that she was afraid of this foe. She was never a talented hunter due to her size and temperament, so maybe it would be smart to enter this with a healthy dose of fear. Maybe fuck off. She closed distance rapidly and launched an attack similar to the off-white wolf’s own on the boar’s other side. She sought to sink her teeth into the flesh on its cheek, close to the eye, and use her bulk to force its head and weapons safely downward. tags: @quartz Zora Talus Pepperwords: 514 notes: im scared lmao [newclass=.callisto]height:400px;color:#E1DFD8;text-align:justify;padding:10px;width:440px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;background:#000;opacity:.5[/newclass] [newclass=.callisto b]color:#d9cbdb;text-shadow:0px 0px 2px;font-family:montserrat;letter-spacing:1px;[/newclass] [newclass=.callisto i]color:#fff; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.callisto::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #fff; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.callisto::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.callisto::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass]

Others were here. She sensed them before she saw them, but only just. She’d gotten used to identifying prey, but hadn’t really practiced on others of her kind yet. Now was the perfect time for that, apparently. A sandy wolf revealed herself and turned to the boar. Quartz dipped her head and focused on their prey as well. This was happening, but it’d be best to wait and watch for now.
Another life was sensed, and that brought with it the vaguest familiar whiff. She turned to spy a certain skeletal wolf. So she’d been drawn here, too? She’d been a very talented hunter when it came to the elk, so Quartz was happy for her company. When the other wolf smiled, Quartz dipped her head in respect.
Then it seemed like the time to attack had arrived. She would have liked more company for this, but she couldn’t wait any longer. Not if she wanted to keep the salt-and-pepper she-wolf alive. She moved along as silently as her paws could manage, ears lifting curiously when her power picked up another wolf nearby. Maybe they did have a good chance here, after all.
Pepper went after the sow’s ear. An unfamiliar wolf charged at that moment to attack her other cheek. Quartz darted around the boar in an attempt to chomp down on a hind leg. A with any dangerous prey, she felt it best to try and cripple the beast, to limit its range of movement and attack.

[googlefont=Montserrat] [attr="class","hunt"] [attr="class", "godling"]Spirit Boar Challenge Rating: Difficult HP: 80 / 100 Reward: 50 EVO Points [attr="class","hunt5"] When they came for her, she was ready. Time slowed, three separate shapes diving for her, their white fangs flashing in the gloom of the forest. The first to strike her was a salt-and-pepper skeleton wolf. It latched onto her ear, teeth biting through the soft flesh – and the hog practically snarled, a sound of triumph. The second came on her opposite side, teeth scoring tracks through her cheek, plunging through the bristly hairs that covered her hide there. Still not a problem, the boar thought. The final came after her hind hock – and the sow screamed her rage as the brute bit through flesh and muscle, blackened blood leaping from the newly-made wound. She thrashed. It was the sheer size of her, her weight against theirs, every muscle in her body straining to its utmost limit. She shook her head, slamming her massive head against first one wolf and then another, practically lifting them off their feet and tossing them away. At the same time, she kicked back toward the last wolf, a glancing blow that struck the hunter across the face. She followed the movement, turning back toward that third wolf, golden eyes glinting with a maddened bloodlust, a roar building in her throat as she dropped her head and charged, warning the creature further back. Now that she knew her enemies, the sow considered each carefully. She snorted, dropped her head, ready to charge at the first stupid enough to come for her again, ready to lunge under and up at the last moment, ready to spear them through the belly with her massive tusks. Ready to split them open, spill out their intestines, make them bleed. ooc: wolf attack rolls. boar attack rolls. :^) feel free to tag a guide if you need assistance btw lmao [newclass=.hunt]background:url('https://cdnw.nickpic.host/vtSnMd.png');color:#292929;font-size:11px;font-family:arial;padding:15px;width:500px;background-repeat:no-repeat;background-size:cover;[/newclass] [newclass=.hunt2]background:url('https://78.media.tumblr.com/79f2d5b3b17bfc869cb63e5d82e22a55/tumblr_oskrhxZMtL1wtj4p6o1_500.gif');width:500px;height:200px;background-position:bottom center;border:1px solid #ccc;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.hunt3]background:rgba(25,25,25,0.35);padding:5px;border:1px solid #fff;color:#fff;text-align:center;font-family:montserrat;text-transform:uppercase;font-size:14px;width:405px;margin-top:75px;font-weight:700;letter-spacing:1px;[/newclass] [newclass=.hunt4]color:#E2F3CA;font-family:calibri;font-size:10px;letter-spacing:6px;font-weight:300;margin-top:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.hunt4 b]color:#ab0000;[/newclass] [newclass=.hunt4 a]color:#E2F3CA;font-family:calibri;font-size:10px;letter-spacing:4px;font-weight:300;[/newclass] [newclass=.hunt5]background:rgba(25,25,25,0.85);color:#848484;;margin-top:10px;text-align:justify;padding:15px;height:350px;overflow:auto;[/newclass] [newclass=.hunt5 b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:700;color:#a44747;[/newclass] [newclass=.hunt5::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #2A2A2A; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.hunt5::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.hunt5::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass] [newclass=.hunt6]background:rgba(25,25,25,0.85);color:#848484;text-align:justify;padding:15px;margin-top:-10px;[/newclass] [newclass=.godling a]font-size:8px;letter-spacing:1px;color:#fff;[/newclass]

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","socold"] Zora was scared. The rapid beating of her heart and churning of her innards providing testimony to that fact. Relief washed over her as she noted the entrances of the additional wolves. At that moment she began to creep forward slowly watching the seemingly unaware prey. Her body had centered on quietly making her way behind the boar, slinking through the underbrush and away from the small illuminating crystals that could potential reveal her movements. Thoughts however drifted towards Oberon, had he known there existed such creatures. Surely he had to have known… Would she even had wanted to know, potentially limiting the thirst she now felt. The moment had presented itself though, before a few steps action began. A slow encircling of the creature is what Zora would have preferred, but this wasn’t something she could calculate or theorize in the exact. If she wanted to help bring this boar down, she would have to act. Lips quivered into a silent snarl, drool simultaneously forming in anticipation of first drop of blood. But she knew then that the element of surprise may help her more than anything now. As she watched Quartz, Callisto and Pepper launch attacks, eyes narrowed not angrily but knowingly of the pain a boar could cause. She hoped, almost praying that she was spotted yet, and for the safety of them all. Still she stayed at first. Seemingly unsighted by the boar, something to be grateful for. Seemingly unsighted by the boar, something to be grateful for. Zora knew the closer the better off she would be if launching an attack. So with that knowledge she slowly had stalked forward, lithe legs attempting to carry her quick and low. She willed herself to watch though as the sow retaliated against the three wolves already attempting to tear in. Hoping that this would not linger on, she hated to see any pains in others; but she was pressing her own luck as well now. Pushing the thoughts away she saw the opportunity she had been awaiting; the boar was upset. Sights set on the others there so far. Dropping her head, as if daring, goading them into an attack. This would hopefully provide Zora the opportune moment. She had hopefully stayed hidden long enough to arrive within the jump distance she now attempted. Legs launching forward, ears flattened fully and her jaws fell open. Carnivore teeth aimed for the fleshy thigh opposite of where Quartz had attacked. If successful her paws would be on the boars behind, nails attempting to dig in and go down. At the same time her jaws and body were, if she had made contact, attempting to thrash. Almost in a crocodile like manner, teeth aiming for the muscles hidden underneath her amour. Her plan was to pull an intentional chunk of meat away and hopefully back step far enough out of the other injured leg’s reach so she could ready herself again. tags: Pepper Callisto @quartz words: 491 notes: Ugh, sickness just sucks, sorry all for any mistakes. Pepper Pepper should of seen it coming - been more cautious. But she hadn't. Her tongue didn't even get a chance to savor the salty liquid beckoned by fangs before the muscled sow thrashed. Dull, olive eyes widened just in time to feel a point of that deadly tusk rip across flesh. The shear force of the blow sent the female stumbling away from their confident prey. This had been a mistake. It was as obvious as the trickling stream of maroon that now painted a portion of salt-pepper fur on her chest. There was no backing out now, however. Running, though very tempting, wasn't an option when the lives of other wolves hanged in the balance. This was only further solidified upon noticing both Quartz and the equally dark stranger had been hit as well. No, she couldn't abandon them. The growing knot of pain and fear growing within was swallowed and, instead, traded for a heavy dose of focus. Morpheus had told her to face this encumbering emotion; better sooner than later.
It was sure to keep her up from nightmares later, but Pepper squared off with the gilt once more. The skeleton canine tucked her head slightly, bunched her hinds, and dug into the soil with trembling fores. Each beat of her heart was recounted by the back and forth motion of her tail - akin to a fast-paced pendulum. To anyone with even a basic sense of empathy it was clear to sense her terror, but it didn't keep her still. As the champagne she-wolf began her surprise attack from behind, Pepper shot forward a few beats after. The hope was to catch the brawny prey in the few seconds of shock that would follow the newcomer's assault. If not...then Pepper was probably in for some serious hurt. Her goal was less about damage and more about hindrance. Sharp maw stretched wide whilst her narrow cranium tilted sideways - she was going for the eyes. It would be very rewarding if she managed to hit - even one would help - but it also put the scrawny wolf right between those two fatal tusks.
Pepper planned on a quick strike before dancing away much like she had done with the elk specter. In a perfect world she would be in-and-out without a scratch, but that was a long shot. In any case, even if she adorned a scar from this battle in the future, she would count it as a victory to simply introduce incisors into the retina.
