Self-Serving
Kimagure serves her own interests before anyone else's. She believes in survival of the fittest and intends to ensure she and those she cares for are considered the fittest. She is not above killing, lying, cheating or stealing if necessary. Though she does not typically go out of her way to hurt others, if they stand between her and success... she isn't above doing whatever necessary to achieve her goals.
Independent
Kimagure relies on no one but herself. She has seen the worst the world has had to offer and doesn't intend to be anyone's pawn. She has been betrayed by strangers and family alike... and trust is hard to come by.
Calculating
She learned at a young age that not all things can be won through brute strength alone. Guile is often necessary. She thinks very carefully before she acts or speaks. The she-wolf is very well-spoken and intelligent. She overpowers those weaker than she and strives to manipulate those more powerful. Essentially, she plans very carefully to achieve her goals.
Loose Morals
When it comes to morality, the ivory plays fast and loose. There are few lines she is unwilling to cross. The most obvious being sexual assault. She also has something of a soft spot for children of all species.
History
Her family consisted of a loose group of wolves with a single male as their leader. However, as the saying goes, a man may be the head, but the woman is the neck and she will turn the head any way she wants. So in her early years she was surrounded by constant competition. Each she-wolf vied for superiority over the others and the leader's attentions. Dominance over the other she-wolves meant safety for hers pups, a full stomach, and increased influence over the male.
Kimagure was born during a very cold winter, one of much heartache and loss. Many starved to death and all went hungry. Kimagure's mother had a total of six pups and the she-wolf knew she could not keep them all. She made a choice that would shape Kimagure's life forever. The woman ate the smallest and weakest children, leaving behind only two.
Kimagure and her sister survived the very harsh winter, but only just barely. The two girls witnessed the levels to which their mother needed to stoop to keep them alive. In the dead of night, their mother would drag tiny bodies back to their den. When light came, she blamed the disappearances on scavengers. A she-wolf out alone was a prime target for their mother's jaws. Kimagure's mother kept them alive by eliminating other hungry mouths so she and her sister could in turn be fed.
Kimagure's mother never kept it a secret that she had devoured her two remaining daughters' siblings from the two girls, but she never spoke of the deaths of the other pups. Death was a part of life in their pack, the she-wolves fought and killed one another frequently with impunity. The only crime the male ever took interest in was the killing of his pups.
He wanted to father as many young as he could, so murder of his children was punishable by death. Kimagure's mother convinced him that her four other children had perished due to the cold and that she had devoured their corpses to be able to feed her remaining young. He believed her. She was never firmly linked to the deaths of the other younglings, so she was never punished.
The other females suspected her, but she had only taken pups from those unable to best her in battle. The strongest females cared none at all, as long as their dens remained untouched. It was to their and their young's benefit to ignore what Kimagure's mother had done. Kimagure spent the first three months of her life observing the lengths to which her mother would go to to survive. She learned by example that there is no right or wrong, that there is only survival. As she grew, she too became embroiled in the life of competition, except she was in competition with the other pups. Kimagure's mother observed the growth of her young daughters with great interest, protecting them from the other she-wolves when needed, but never interfering with their affairs involving the other pups.
Kimagure knew love only through her sister and mother. Her father was a distant figure, showing only a cursory interest in the strongest of his pups. She grew up fighting side by side with her sister, sometimes losing, but often winning. Her mother taught both daughters all she knew, including a bit about herbs here and there. Kimagure's mother would tell them stories while she cleaned and mended their wounds. She told them of where she was born and the young girl couldn't help wanting to see it.
Kimagure eventually reached adulthood, growing to become a proud and powerful wolf in her own right. Her father had grown old, his thoughts scattered and his judgement clouded. The she-wolves grew restless, sensing a change on the winds. Months were spent on edge. It all came to a head when a pair of young males arrived in the dead of the night. They challenged him to a fight to the death. The two males attacked him savagely and the sounds of the fight drew the rest of the pack. A yearling child launched herself into the fray and was quickly dispatched by one of the brothers. No one else tried to intervene. The king had fallen.
The two males quickly assumed authority and set about killing all the young pups in the pack. The she-wolves were too bitter towards one another to band together, they remained in the pack solely because of the king, and now the king was dead. His protection died with him and life in the pack quickly worsened. Women and children alike were killed for defying the two brothers. They were a cruel pair that showed no mercy. The second great incident in Kimagure's life was the loss of her mother. Kimagure's mother had always been disdainful of the two males and her pride would be the death of her. The old woman refused their advances at every turn until finally their patience wore thin.
They gave her an ultimatum. Submit or die. She chose to fight. Kimagure was out hunting when the fight occurred, but her sister was not. Her sister had fallen madly in love with one of the two brothers and she did nothing as her mother fought and lost. The two brothers skinned Kimagure's mother and kept her pelt as a trophy and warning. Kimagure returned from her hunt later that evening to find her mother dead and mutilated. She was shocked and grief-stricken, she began searching for her sister fearfully. She demanded answers from the other females. They only smiled smugly at her an refused to answer. The grieving wolf finally found her sister and she reeked of mating with her lover.
Kimagure confronted her about the death of their mother. Kimagure's sibling laughed and told her that their mother had earned it for defying the males, she also confided in her that she carried her lover's very first litter of pups. Kimagure was enraged by her sister's inaction and betrayal, but she hid it well, biding her time.
The time finally came for her sister to birth her pups. Kimagure created a distraction on the far side of the pack's territory, drawing the brothers away. Kimagure approached her sister during her birth, much to her sister's delight. At first Kimagure consoled the wolf, laying behind her delicately. She groomed her traitorous sister pleasantly. Her stroking tongue slowly made its way to the base of her sister's skull. In a smooth, silent motion Kimagure closed her jaws around her sister's neck. Her eye teeth pierced her throat and silenced the other woman permanently.
Her sister never birthed her children and Kimagure took leave of her childhood home once her dark deed was finished. She wandered for roughly a month, following the whispers and rumor about the place she had heard of as a girl. She traveled for some time, eventually entering the land of the gods... though that was not her intended location. Kimagure entered this fabled land, keen on never looking back.
