She was content with her exploration of the lands, and had decided on a long term home for herself. Her paws had carried her to the Cradle of Snowdrops a few days ago, with the intent of leaving her days of wandering behind her. That didn’t mean she’d never visit any of the lands again – she probably would – but now she knew enough about this place to know that this was where she felt best. The cradle was lush, with the scents and sense of life all around her. Shelter was easy, hunting was…well…comparatively easy, when the other lands were taken into account, and her surroundings were beautiful. What more could she want?
Well, to achieve her true potential, but this was as good a place as any to work on that.
She’d been thinking of Oberon constantly since their initial meeting. He’d helped her find her paws in this new land, and given her goals to work toward. She’d explored, made herself familiar with the types of territory she could cross here. She was learning more about the Cradle of Snowdrops every day she remained. She continued to improve her abilities. She’d hunted creatures that she’d never have imagined to exist before, and in doing so had met several different wolves. There was even one she considered a friend. That…covered nearly all of the advice he’d given her, right?
Well…maybe, but she still felt too alone for comfort. Pepper was nice, but two wolves together did not make a pack, and it would be a pack that would make her feel truly secure – make this feel truly like home. Of course, there was only one wolf in the world she’d trust well enough in a pack at this point in time, but what would be the harm and gathering a few wolves she got on well with? Wolves she felt like she could someday trust with her life? If she could get a small group to agree to band together for a while, the trust and official pack formation could come later.
Of course, such a task was still daunting. She wasn’t the most extroverted of creatures, after all. It was hard to approach others who didn’t give off a sort of meek, submissive vibe that urged her protective instincts past those barriers. The ideal pack would have a healthy mix of several trustworthy personalities…but she supposed she’d deal with that as it applied.
For now, she just kept wandering the cradle, listening to her senses as they detailed the kind of lives that moved around her. Mostly rabbits, rodents, and birds, but perhaps she’d come to sense another wolf or two if she kept walking.

Leyda slipped through the cradle, her pawsteps crunching softly in the grass. She had been experimenting with her dreams and now that she had her first power somewhat working Leyda found no reason to disguise her presence. No need to sneak when she could make her quarry just sleep. Well if they were small enough, she was still having some trouble getting it completely right. Well, there was always time to practice, and speaking of practice right in front of her was the perfect target. A rabbit, obliviously crunching on grass shoots and facing away from her. Taking a deep breath Leyda stared it down, trying to pull forward her power from the back of her mind and project it, focusing on the animal in front of her.

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","socold"] Zora was out today again exploring, she like many others in the this land had the advice and need to venture around the lands. This place was different from anything she had seen previous. It seemed to invite you in with flowers and comforting arms. Fauna and flora could be heard, smelled on the wind and seen all around; truly plentiful. It was in those moments that the scents of other wolves…one familiar, one not being drawn in as she continued forward. Friendship was something she struggled with the very few times she had even allowed the attempts. The waves inside her eyes scanned the area, as she willed her body to remain relaxed, defenses lowered. Walking she tried to make noise with her paws, alerting the others of her approach as someone wise had done with her. This potentially scaring any small animals around, though Zora hadn’t the knowledge of the one rabbit, who was under duress from the power of Leyda if the female had been successful before Zora’s approach. tags: @quartz Leyda Farstride and any else that joins xD words:172 notes: Z’s really trying she thinks. Pepper The Cradle had served as Pepper's home ever since she first arrived. Though most the others seemed like nomads, she was content to stay in one place. Already she had dug a cozy den among the roots of a great oak and spent her mornings tending to the broken snowdrops as best she could. The birds would sing their melody, having grown used to her presence, and a sense of calm would take-over. But not today it seemed. Those gentle tones that the scrawny wolf enjoyed stayed silent - tense. Everything seemed too quiet within the sea of flowers. Had Morpheus returned? Long, thin limbs delicately picked their way across the terrain in order to secure a better view of the place. The scent of snowdrops, both crushed and freshly bloomed, blotted out any attempt to try and identify what had come within the Cradle before she saw them.
The first to be spotted was the black-furred female in the distance. Even with the space that separated them, it was easy to pick-out that dark coat against the white vegetation. Movement gave the other two away. There was a champagne canine walking up to a multi-colored companion; Pepper couldn't see what they were doing thanks to the distance that split between them. Typically, the off-white loner would of bolted upon seeing a group of strangers so close, but these faces she recognized. A smile etched across leathery lips whilst long strides happily cut the yards that pushed them apart.
"Hey!" It was a surprisingly cheerful voice from one that usually spouted only fears. A glimpse at the sweet vocals that could be beckoned if only the black clouds could be banished.

Only a few moments of concentration lent Leyda her quarry, the rabbit swaying drowsily before falling flat onto its side with a soft crunch of grass and flower blossoms. With a triumphant grin spreading across her muzzle Leyda stood from her crouched position, tail wagging behind her as she sauntered over, giving it a few sniffs. In all honesty, she didn't need to eat it, for the first time in a very long time her stomach was more full than empty thanks to this power. As the sound of pawsteps reached her ears she saw two wolves approaching her, a wolf with a coat like champagne that she'd never seen before and one with a salt and pepper coat that she recognized from the elk hunt. Before she would've felt threatened but she could tell that the pair had good intentions. "Hello there!" Leyda whuffed with a wag of her tail "Any of you happen to be hungry for some rabbit?"@quartz Pepper Zora Talus

Voices and the niggling of her identifying power caught her attention, and she headed in the direction that would lead her to the other wolves. There were…three? Four? It was hard to tell, with other little beacons of life scattered around. This was a good thing, she told herself. She needed allies, and here were a few potential ones just waiting. All she had to do was show she was trustworthy and hope they could do the same.
Then she saw them, and relief washed over her. She recognized every single wolf here. There was Pepper, of course, and Leyda, and…Zora? Each had accompanied her on at least one hunt when the spirit creatures made their presences known on these lands. She could do this. She knew she could work well with all these wolves – how could she not when they’d been so successful without even knowing each other beforehand?
It seemed like this meeting had just happened, so she approached, convincing herself for the time being that she wouldn’t be intruding. Then Leyda offered her rabbit to the others, and Quartz’s gaze flicked to Pepper. She could certainly use the extra food, in Quartz’s opinion. Things may be relatively easy now, but how long would they stay that way? It was better to have a little bit of excess to live on for leaner times.

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","socold"] Zora recognized two of the three gathered as she came to stand near the group. Her body relaxed slightly as she dipped her head in greeting to all. “I am not hungry, thanks for the kind offer though.” Looking at the rabbit she noticed the absence of any telltale signs of a hunt, curious…she wondered then…what each wolf would come to be one day, Oberon had said each wolf’s journey would be different. ”I am Zora Talus..nice to meet you.” The words felt foreign, though they had passed through her lips before. It had been some time since she had coexisted with others of her kind, even before that greetings and friendship was hardly in the mix. She looked to Pepper, as Quartz, Z knew the skinny female could use it the most. Pepper was a fighter through the hunts, Zora wondered at the future and what powers she might come to wield. Then her eyes turned to Quartz, a wolf she had come to admire and respect during the hunts as well. Females from her youth were far weaker than the two she had met. A small smile formed, she couldn’t help but think, maybe this would be a great day…at least no beasts were out today. tags: @pepper Leyda Farstride @quartz words: 207 notes: Ughhh so late my apologizes <333’s [newclass=.socold]height:420px;color:#E1DFD8;text-align:justify;padding:10px;width:440px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;background:#000;opacity:.5[/newclass] [newclass=.socold b]font-weight:700;color:#fff;text-shadow:-1px -1px #000;font: 12px Montserrat;[/newclass] [newclass=.socold i]color:#a27158; font: 10px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.socold::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #fff; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.socold::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.socold::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass]

Pepper The quartet of wolves all seemed to be converging around Leyda which Pepper was happy to comply with. Seeing this group of previously acquainted canines made the scrawny female surprisingly happy. Most of her time was spent alone in these never-ending snowdrops, but now she had guests! Not that she owned the land or anything, of course. Anyone was free to come and go as they please. Which brought about the question of why exactly they were here. Was this planned? Luck perhaps? It seemed the multi-colored huntress had arrive due to prey as evidenced by the limp rabbit on the ground. Dull, kindly eyes flicked over toward Zora and then Quartz; it was impossible to hold back the small bounce of her tail then.
"Pepper." Through the salt-pepper skeleton had met these ladies before, she wasn't egotistical enough to assume they remembered her name.
Meanwhile it seemed attention had fallen upon her for some reason. It was easy enough for the smart wolf to connect the dots, but her head shook in denial. Though it was true she hadn't eaten today, to take someone else's hard work seemed... wrong. She still felt bad about partaking in the gilt even though the others swore the emaciated canine earned the share. On the other hand, Pepper was also largely against wasting the life of something. Thus her slightly quivering tone clarified further, "I'll only take a quarter of it, but no more... And only if you'd like me to..."
"But, uh, before that," Her sharply sculpted cranium cocked slightly in a rather amusing display of confusion. "What are you guys doing here?"

"It's a pleasure to meet you both! My name is Leyda Farstride, but it's just easier to call me Leyda." Leyda whuffed wagging her tail gently behind her "You can have as much of it as you'd like Pepper! Honestly, I'm the fullest I've been in years these past few days."Her voice was incredibly rusty, given that she was more used to thinking to herself than actually talking to other wolves, but the listener could tell she had good intentions. In all honesty, Leyda had missed this, just talking to other wolves and being relaxed about it. It made her miss her old family, and how they lived together in something resembling a pack. "Well as for what I've been doing out here, I've honestly been looking for someone to run with. It gets lonely sometimes as the years drag on ya know?" Something told Leyda not to disclose her powers, not yet anyway. You never knew who was friend or foe, and while they seemed nice she wanted to have at least one secret. @quartz Pepper Zora Talus

The others introduced themselves. Quartz waited for her turn, the smallest of amused smirks gracing her features as Pepper noticed the attention she was getting. It wasn’t her place to urge her to eat or not, but the one who offered did urge her again. The fullest she’d been in years, was she? Quartz could only assume that this one must have some power that benefitted hunting in some way. She could appreciate that – her own powers were lending themselves in that direction as well, it seemed, with her noticing more prey creatures than she’d ever known about before. Pepper asked what they were doing there, and Leyda replied that she was looking for company. So there was at least one here with similar goals to her. Oberon’s words flashed through her mind again, and she took a breath, steeling herself. This would be the best time to speak up, wouldn’t it? “I’m Quartz,” she introduced herself, just in case anyone had forgotten. Their previous meetings had been brief and chaotic, after all. “And, uh, same.” Not the most eloquent of speakers, but there was really nothing more she could think of to add. Charisma and social interaction in general had never been her gift, sadly. Zora Talus
