All mortals that awaken on this land will find escape impossible. The sea is rough and deep and strange behemoths lurk beneath its surface. The mountains that encircle the valley are dizzily high, rising up into sheer peaks surrounded by a howling wind. The only way to go is forward, deeper into the depths of the valley.
And these mortal wolves, separated from the outside world, will dream of beings believed to be legends. Guides come to them in dreams, in waking, wreathed in the divine. They speak of the powers that nestle beneath the wolf's breast, of what they might achieve - of whom they might become. If only they seek it.
[attr="class","boopsie"]awakening
Whether a wolf wishes to escape this inescapable land or rise up as a new god, they must first learn something of the power that has awoken within them. Guides exist to assist in this endeavor, but the wolf must also journey through the land, learning to hone their power on their own. As mentioned previously Keywords can be purchased in the site shop. Upon purchasing the first Keyword, your wolf will be able to actually shape and use the power they have been given - and they will be given a quest by their Guide, should they have decided to pursue the mysteries of the land, that will grant them access to the realm of Gods.
At this point they will be considered somewhat divine but still very much a mortal creature - able to bleed, age, and die.
[attr="class","boopsie"]ascending
Upon learning the fifth and final Keyword available to their power, the wolf will have the title of God bestowed upon them. Their mortal body will also be remade, strengthened by their fully-realized power, and they will gain immortality. At this point they may begin to appear before mortal wolves and provide blessings and curses, making their name known. During this time, many wolves cast off their mortal name, taking on a title that more accurately depicts them.
While gods cannot age and die of natural causes found in nature, they can still be slain by other deities. Take care in the enemies you make.
[attr="class","boopsie"]becoming more
Most gods hold domain over a single element. However, upon becoming a god, a truly ambitious wolf may seek out further power. These divine creatures can, with time, master other powers and use them in combination with their existing power. These wolves are not always more powerful than their single-powered counterparts, but they are typically conferred new titles with their mastery. A god with sway over wind and rain may take up the mantle of Storm God, just as a wolf of fire and earth may become Molten.
Ultimately, it is up to each individual god whether they choose to seek out still more power or be satisfied with what they have.
[attr="class","boopsie"]fading away
Vox Deus recognizes the desire for natural progression, and immortality can put a stopper on things. For gods who believe their journey is done or simply wish to rest, we offer the ability to become lost in the realm of the Gods.
This allows a character to temporarily leave the roleplay and return later should the player wish to bring them back into the fray. Time still passes for the wolf while they are lost, allowing players to bring their characters back with new directions to grow, if they so wish.
This is entirely optional, of course, and those who find their character's tale is not yet done should feel no pressure to retire them after a certain amount of time.
But, if you choose to utilize this feature, know that they will always be available should you choose to bring them back.
