[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","pepper"] The pressure had became so great that Pepper wasn't sure how much more of it she could take. Her ears were ringing and it was like even the bones beneath her skin teetered to an unheard tune. The frail being's lips were close to parting and letting a cry ring out through these empty passages, but she was able to hold her tongue a few seconds more. And it was enough. All of a sudden the thick energy that had saddled upon her back was gone and instead replaced by the warm rays of sunshine. The breeze no longer carried a stale air but a crisp freshness - as if oxygen breathed straight from the beginning of time itself had flowed into this place. The songs of countless birds rang whilst undaunted rabbits munched on vegetation nearby. "Did I...do it?" The question was gently laid on the cushion of a soft exhale. Salt-pepper features were twisted in the purest form of shock and awe. It was like when she was a mere whelp stepping out of the confines of their den for the first time and seeing the world. Never had she felt so calm and at peace in recent memory. The fear that had tied her down only moments ago had withdrawn - bowing to her will for the first time. This place...it was like she belonged here. The soft grass welcomed her paws as elongated legs took a few paces forward; testing the ground to see if it was all real. And it was. She felt giddy as a pup, perhaps the first glimpse of the female's playful nature since her arrival. Lithe body bounded around in light pounces whilst the fluffy tail the wolf adorned wagged without remorse. It was only then, after a few happy hops, that her alight olive gaze noticed the familiar sculpture of Morpheus. The antlered male was a welcomed sight and one she went toward quickly. The pure glee that spilled a smile upon her lips wasn't a common mark on the scrawny creature, but it fit. Musical notes formed into delicate words graciously spun from Pepper's tongue, "Morpheus, I did it! And look at this place! It's amazing..."tags: Lirrielwords: 369 notes: she is so proud lmao [newclass=.pepper]max-height:400px;color:#E1DFD8;text-align:justify;padding:10px;width:440px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;background:#000;opacity:.5[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper b]color:#843a30;text-shadow: 0px 0px 2px;font-family:montserrat;letter-spacing:1px;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper i]color:#dc2f18; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #fff; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass]

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","morpheus"] Traveling from mortal lands into the realm of gods was not a strenuous task for Morpheus – but his body had fully accepted its divinity and knew how to harness the energies of the world and bend them to his will. For Pepper, he knew, it was harder – made all the worse that this was the first time she would have felt this almost insurmountable pressure, this living, breathing world that threatened to totally engulf her. So, though his passage was swift and safe, and barely the length of an eye’s blink, he stood watch, head swiveling about, ears fluted as he listened for her cries. He knew she would pass into the realm – of that there was no doubt. But if she lost her concentration, if her mind wandered, then she might well end up in one of the more inhospitable lands. And he had to be prepared to leap into action, if such an event occurred. So, when she appeared beside – only the sudden appearance of a breeze combing through his fur to mark her arrival – he could not help but smile, a look of relief and joy apparent on his face. As she took in the majesty of the land, he finally relaxed his posture, settling down upon a particularly thick patch of grass, lying down in such a way that he could keep a close eye on her while warming his back with the sun that blazed above. To watch her frisk about was a pleasure, a balm upon his weary soul. There was something magical in a wolf’s first journey to the god realm – to a land untouched by mortals, where everything was provided and nothing was needed. Of course, being so resonant with energy, it was easy to sculp parts of the realm into different domains, and many of the more elementally-inclined gods had done so. But Morpheus appreciated the simple grandeur of the floating islands. As far as the god realm went, they were perhaps the least spectacular – and yet that made them all the more comforting to Morpheus. As she finally took note of him, changing her course to approach his resting place, he dipped his head in an elegant bow, reminiscent of when they had first met – though now a smile lit up his handsome features, his expression soft as he met her gaze. “You did,” he agreed. “Welcome to the land of the Gods.” And he looked with her – to the islands that lazily floated by, to the scraps of cloud that ran level to the ground they stood upon, to the sun that managed to be even higher, brilliantly yellow. A soft breeze tugged at his fur, ruffling the silky locks into disarray. “This is our home,” he murmured at last. Then, more firmly, his eyes refocusing on Pepper, he said, “This is your home. Do not believe those who would call you unworthy."[attr="class", "godling"] tags: Pepperwords: 475 notes: i managed to relax myself writing this post LMAO (also gave her the evo points from the quest, just not gonna post the quest complete thing b/c they're having a moment LMAO) [newclass=.morpheus]max-height:440px;color:#E1DFD8;opacity:.8;margin-top:470px;text-align:justify;padding:15px;width:470px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:900;color:#F0F0D8;font-size:12px;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus i]color:#C0D860; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #2A2A2A; width:1px; [/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass][googlefont=Open+Sans]

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","pepper"] The kind words that sung from her Guide's tongue brought the beginning of happy-filled tears to the brisk of falling. It was an honor to stand in this paradise; to be chosen at all to be apart of this world. Pepper still wasn't sure what dictated it all yet. Perhaps the universe had simply spun a wheel and it happen to land on her, but she still felt deeply humbled by the situation. Who wouldn't be when they looked upon a sight such as this? Chucks of perfectly rich land suspended among the canvas of blue sky and fluffy clouds. Temperate winds ruffled through their own quaint island sending a warm embrace down the scrawny being's skin. Despite everything in the past and undoubtedly the future, it was all going to be alright. This was the wholesome truth that Pepper found herself believing. The stilt-like limbs that had previously bounded around gently buckled and brought the salt-pepper female to the soft ground in front of Morpheus. Even though he had not stated it, she knew she wouldn't be allowed to stay here for as long as she liked. Not yet anyways. Thus it was important to take-in every molecule of paradise she could while the chance presented itself. To simply lie here, with her divine father, was all she asked for in the next few minutes. A melodic silence followed the serene tranquility. But it all couldn't last forever. Eventually she would have to face the boiling fear within her again as well as the mortal world and its dangers. There was also still so much she wanted to learn from the horned male before her. The first thing that parted her black lips, however, was a whole-hearted, "Thank you. I couldn't of gotten this far without your guidance." Which she fully believed. If not for Morpheus, surely she would of died in that curled up ball that he had found her in - afraid and alone. She wished to make him proud as if they truly were born of the same blood. There would be more hardships, surely, but a new determination to get through each of them burned within the wolf's meek physique. "I'll get better and prove myself. Some day, when I'm as confident as you are, I'll make it home." But within that stalwart promise a mystery was made. Exactly which home was she talking about? Similar words had been spoken the day of their first meeting; perhaps it was the same statement made anew. tags: Lirriel words: 418 notes: such a peaceful thread lmao [newclass=.pepper]max-height:400px;color:#E1DFD8;text-align:justify;padding:10px;width:440px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;background:#000;opacity:.5[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper b]color:#843a30;text-shadow: 0px 0px 2px;font-family:montserrat;letter-spacing:1px;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper i]color:#dc2f18; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #fff; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass]

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","morpheus"] He smiled gently at her words. He did not think himself the cause of her change – she bloomed much as a flower did, naturally and without assistance from onlookers. But he kept such thoughts to himself, only dipped his head and said softly, “You give me more credit than I deserve,” the gentle protestation used by those who were willing to accept gratitude but could not possibly handle the bulk of such thanks. In truth, he thought her growth a wonderful, but expected, part of her journey. Certainly, in the beginning he had not thought much for her – but with the boar, and then with the bear – children grow up so fast, he could not help but think, and the thought was both wistful and regretful. For to see her own rapid development forced him to face himself – and what he was not: growing. He had been forced to built anew, lay out his path to the starting line with delicate precision. As his mortals charged forward, flying away in pursuit of themselves, of where they belonged, he found himself still working toward a complete persona, a sense of self that he might nurture until it kindled into a raging bonfire. But he did not feel ill toward Pepper, for what he lacked. No, if anything, his dissatisfaction lay entirely with himself – a gnawing irritability that grew with each step his charges took. But he had no one he could rely upon, truly. And to admit his own weakness to Pepper – for she was the closest he could call a friend – would invite her to see him for what he was: flawed and cracked, and not perfect. Not someone she could rely on. Not someone she could confide in. So, when she spoke of home, he wiped away the gloom that hung over him as an ever-persistent cloud, and answered, “You’ve proven yourself to me. But I understand.”Oh, if she only knew how brightly she shined – again and again he was forced to confront her rapid ascent, the knowledge that divinity practically streamed from her every pore. She would make a grand God, but he suspected her persistence would not pass once she’d claimed the title. She would continue to strive, continue to gain, until she was an extraordinary being even amongst the gods. His eyes ached, to think of how she might soon blind him, burn him, with her brilliance. But she was his charge still, and at last he murmured, “Eventually you will have to return to the mortal realm. It is an easier journey – you need only think of the cavern we entered and walk. And you will blink and the mortal lands will be before you again.” Smiling wryly, he added, “You might find the land somewhat stiff, stagnant, compared to the life that hums here.”[attr="class", "godling"] tags: Pepperwords: 471 notes: okay well the relaxation was nice while it happened. thanks morph. [googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","pepper"] The divine spoke of giving him too much credit. Funny. Pepper always thought he wasn't given enough. She knew so little about where he came from, what all he lost, simply to aid budding mortals into godhood. Surely it wasn't an easy task and the scrawny wolf was sure not everyone even appreciated what he did. Callisto had scoffed at his appearance during the boar fight; the female must have a very different view on things here to not be thankful. She wouldn't make the same mistake. To her, the antlered male deserved every recognition he received. Morpheus' kind words didn't end there. He went on to state that she was a proven canine in his eyes. It meant a lot to hear those words. Though Pepper had never known her father, she figured surely the figure was meant to be something like this. A pillar of protection, love, and expectation - a force that would drive her to make the best of each situation but also be there if things went horribly wrong. This was how she saw her Guide and the idea was only reinforced more each meeting. His next bout of information was less surprising. Pepper had figured she would have to go back sooner or later; though she was thankful that the passage out would be easier than entering this place. She would remember these instructions for the next time her paws crossed into the limestone cave - it was certain this wouldn't be her last trip here. Still, the salt-pepper female's calm physique stretched as a yawn swallowed her peaceful expression. When it was over, sculpted cranium took a position upon dainty paws. "I will go back, but am I allowed to nap for just a few minutes here? It's so peaceful..." Already her lids felt heavy. With the songs of birds filling her ears and Morpheus' presence keeping company, there really was no better resting place. When all was said and done, however, Pepper would make her way back to the mortal realm - refreshed and ready to face her next challenge. tags: Lirriel words: 345 notes: ready for closing ; a short and (mostly) sweet interaction [newclass=.pepper]max-height:400px;color:#E1DFD8;text-align:justify;padding:10px;width:440px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;background:#000;opacity:.5[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper b]color:#843a30;text-shadow: 0px 0px 2px;font-family:montserrat;letter-spacing:1px;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper i]color:#dc2f18; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #fff; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass]

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","morpheus"] Foolish, he thought. He watched her yawn, utterly at ease, soaking in the sun: surrounded by grass, by flowers, by insects that fluttered about, busy at a work they could never hope to know. Something like a smile tugged at his lips, that he could be so foolishly dour when sat beside a figurative infant. How could he not share in her wonder, in her joy? In the peace she felt, here in the sunlit lands? Stop complaining, he wanted to tell himself. But he settled for dropping his head upon his paws, a soft sigh drawn forth from the depths of his throat, a sweet gust of air that delicately bent the blades of grass directly before him. His eyelids fluttered closed with an elegant finality – though he did not shut Pepper out, no, it was entirely against him that he brought up the wall. Him and his inability to enjoy the good that surrounded him. “You are allowed whatever you wish,” he said. Sweet Pepper, that she sought permission from him even now, when the threads of godhood were already reforming her into his equal. She was so close, the very scent of her leaked gold, the sharp outline of her stark against his inner eyelids’ blackness. And yet for all that she should have pained him, to be so blazingly divine – he found he did not mind, found the light of her divinity soothing. More quietly, sleep beginning to pluck at his innermost chords, he added, "This realm is yours, after all.”[attr="class", "godling"] tags: Pepperwords: 255 notes: the most piddly wrap-up lmao [newclass=.morpheus]max-height:440px;color:#E1DFD8;opacity:.8;margin-top:470px;text-align:justify;padding:15px;width:470px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:900;color:#F0F0D8;font-size:12px;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus i]color:#C0D860; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #2A2A2A; width:1px; [/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass][googlefont=Open+Sans]
