It had been one day cycle before they came back into existence. Ever watching, ever shining. Countless energies gleaming like crystal forever alive and bright in the cold void of the heavens. They were perfect in their life; every one of them just as they should be. No defects or mars to be seen. And, if they were extra special, they got to travel the universe as a blazing light streaking across the sky. That was how Diego described them and the small pup drank in every word. She wanted to be like those stars, to fit in the expanse of life and never be questioned on where she was. And, if she was lucky, travel the world as a shining light.
These stars where different, however, from the ones that Jordan had watched. They didn't sit in the right place and glowed with a different light. They were still stars, but...were as the land upon which she sat. Unfamiliar. She hadn't traveled before the storm. She had gone back to the tiny den she liked to hide in when Diego was out at the first sign of dark clouds. But the morning after had shown otherwise. It didn't make sense. The small lanky figure had spent most of her day trying to find any sight or scent of the aged grey wolf, but even the other pack members where missing. Nothing was right. Where were they? Where was she?

Damia woke up that morning with her body back. She smiled softly and stretched. It felt great to have paws again. Her fluffy golden fur. She was gorgeous and she knew it. She took a stroll, getting back into her own body. It was so nice. She was a wolf again. And that meant she could do better in gathering her pretties. She so far had only ran into adults. And that was perfect for her. Her brother was still no to be found near her. But he would get to her. He always did.
What she was not expecting was to find a young pup. Only about half a year old. If that. She was just a cute little thing. While she like her pretties. Toys were fun. She couldnt just ignore such a sweet pup. She would use her. Yes. Make her in her image. With a smile and a goal in her mind. She approached the pup. Noticing the twisted paw. It was unusual. Was it ugly? Sort of. She wasnt sure how she felt about this. On on paw, it was unique. It would add flare to her. But on the other. It might make it difficult for her to fight. But it also allowed a way to get the child to do what she wants.
Hello child She said simply, in a soft tone. What are you doing out here by yourself?

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","morpheus"] Every so busy, dashing across the lands. That was Morpheus’ life, all-consuming, and if he was glad for anything, it was that the migration of spirits had ended with the great bear’s death. Otherwise, he might well have run himself ragged – though in truth a godly body could never fully succumb to exhaustion. But the same could not be said of his mind, and mental weariness was a silent killer. But he appreciated this new creature’s arrival. She came under the cover of darkness, a tapestry of stars painting the ground visible beneath his paws. They also gleamed and glimmered, their light snagging in his coat, rendering him almost a beacon in the quiet of night. He liked it. There was something comforting about the night – and it extended beyond his dreamy domain. And yet, for all that security cloaked him, it took only a single glance, a wide-eyed recognition, for it to be stripped from him. No. His jaws clamped tight on the word, unwilling to release it unto the world. And yet as he drew closer, head down, he worked to summon some sense of joy to his face. For he knew that he was a grown wolf, a grown male, blazing bright horns and eyes a shining blue. And she was a pup and without her family and – he drew a deep breath, sorting the scents that flushed his body with growing desperation – she was alone. The oldest scent that clung to her was old, older than a day – and he could only thank the realm that she was obviously weaned. And yet as he drew closer so too did another – one he had missed on first inspection, too focused on his newest charge. This secondary wolf was an adult, female, blonde – and he might have thought her a relative, a pack member, anything to prove the pup had not been alone, and yet… And yet she spoke, and marked herself as stranger in a few words. He broke into a trot, great head lifting, tail rising up as a sense of dominance instilled itself within him. He was not one to distrust newcomers – after all, strangers were all he knew. But that another wolf had approached his charge – a wolf that he had yet been able to vet, unable to discern her purpose and why she might approach a pup – and even as the thoughts came to him, he also had to admit she might be as Pepper was, kind and helpful and therefore the exact wolf a young pup like this needed. He certainly couldn’t take the small creature into the god realm with him, but neither could he expect her to keep up as he moved between his charges. So, as he drew close enough that he did not have to shout, he said softly, “Greetings,” politeness dampening whatever edge might have clung to his voice. He acknowledged the older female first, blue eyes sizing her up yet again, before he turned toward the child, head dipping down so that he was at a closer level to her. He regarded her, crystalline blue eyes boring into her murky green – trying to discern from her depths how best he might go about this introduction, this meeting. There was always something of a snag, he thought, when he was forced to confront multiple wolves. And, he thought, it was made all the worse when one of those two was not his. “You are both newcomers to this land?” he asked. He knew the pup was; the blonde was another matter. She might belong to one of the other Guides. But he had to know what she knew, before he began to impart his knowledge. It was a dreadful feeling; lost, hopeless, alone. It had many faces but it was the same thing. Abandonment. Why? Diego would never leave her, would he? He had never said anything about it, either leaving or staying, but that meant it was good. Right? The rest of the pack seemed to care little for what happened to her, so their disappearance was not as surprising. But to be alone and not understand anything that happened? Again? The soft voice that pierced the crisp night air brought ears to a perk, eyes still staring at the eternal stars. It wasn't familiar in any way and for a moment Jordan thought it to be the stars asking her. But that didn't make sense. The stars didn't ever seem to care about the going on of mortals. Grey blue eyes glanced back to the earth and looked around her. There; a white yellow she-wolf stood not far off watching her. Finally! "Hi! Do you know where Diego is? I don't know how I got here and he must be worried about me." Lanky limbs picked the scrawny pup up from sitting, aptly showing off that twisted, stunted hind paw. Then suddenly the very stars gave birth to a creature the likes Jordan had never known. Large, elegant, empowering, gentle, fatherly. Despite his curling pearlesque horns, there was something immensely comforting about his presence. He was a star embodied. Perfect, shining, guiding. The pup could only stare at him, young eyes drinking in his glowing aura. "Whoa..."

Damia heard the young pup ask for a name, a family member perhaps. She said the name so she didnt think it would be a father. And she said he. It was strange. It could be a sibling, or maybe even her adopted family. If she had one. She wasn't to sure, but she wouldnt assume anything. Before she had a chance to answer, a male came forward. Beautiful creature. He had horns sprouting from his head. Even if it was night she could see a bit of his form. There was something.. Strange about him. She did not want to mess with him right now. but part of her really wanted him. He then asked if she was new to this land as well as the pup. She nodded her head to the male. She was going to say she had just arrived but her tongue betrayed her. I havent seen anyone by the name Diego, and Im fairly new to this land. Been here for some time though. Woke up here as a caribou! It was awful. She ended up rambling the truth a bit. It was not what she meant to say. She had also meant to tell the pup she knew where this Diego was so she could get her to come with. But she didnt say that. Whats going on? Tag: Jordan , Lirriel

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","morpheus"] Diego… The Guide’s ears briefly fluted forward then back, as he took the time to sort through his memories. He knew, instinctively, that there was no such name hidden in the depths of his mind – but he searched anyway, that he might offer a scrap of solace to the child. But, no, he knew of no such wolf, and just as quickly as he came to that conclusion, so the blonde female responded in kind. Not that he had expected differently; the pup did not act as if they were familiar. Instead, what drew his attention was what she uttered, a look of consternation crossing his handsome features, brow wrinkled in confusion. “Caribou?” he echoed. “That might be why you’ve yet to meet your Guide,” he murmured, more to himself than either of his audience. “Unless you have?” he added after a moment, considerate of the fact a Guide might see beneath the skin and straight into the soul. Quietly, he was relieved he had yet to meet a wolf guised as another creature – he knew of the God Realm’s tendency toward playing tricks, but this sounded more – personal. Perhaps a God of Trickery – which, in a way, was the true surprise here: he had known of the earthen god, of course, following the boar encounter. But that there might be another deity, with possession of trickery – and that they might be running rampant across the unsuspecting mortals. Something squeezed at his heart, a surge of protectiveness for his charges. Let the trickster not cross his path or harm his. Otherwise they would answer to nightmares untold. Once more his eyes flicked to the blonde as he asked, “But you did not come to harm while changed, yes?”Of course, he could not forget his youngest mortal for long, and once he had ascertained his question had been heard, he turned back toward the smaller female, eyes softening, face relaxing as he answered, “I am afraid your Diego may not be here, young one.” [newclass=.morpheus]max-height:440px;color:#E1DFD8;opacity:.8;margin-top:470px;text-align:justify;padding:15px;width:470px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:900;color:#F0F0D8;font-size:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus i]color:#C0D860; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #2A2A2A; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass] [googlefont=Open+Sans]

The only thing that seemed to matter in the words of either was that neither knew of or about Diego. Further more, this star-wolf said the old gray was not here. A moment of pure despair painted the smaller life. Ears laying flat and eyes frowning in grief. Did that mean the old male had died? No! He couldn't just die! He had to make sure Jordan grew up! He promised! "So...I'm alone, again." Shoulders slumped as head and tail lowered. What was she to do? It seemed the only she was ever capable of was getting lost and forgetting. But she remembered Diego, so she didn't forget everything. But...maybe.. Eyes shot back up the male, ears once more perked. "Can you help me find him? You're a star, right? A falling star? You can travel the universe and find him! Right?" Small head jerked back and forth between the two adults with such hope. One of them had to know something. "I can come with you. These stars here don't look right but I remember the ones from home. If we find those then I can find Diego!" It was fail-proof.

Damia wasnt sure what she should do. Her damn mouth betrayed her. She wanted to growl in frustration but she held it back. Instead the male asked her if she came to harm as a caribou. Oh what a sweet male. She would love to have him. But she knew that until she knew what he could do, it was dangerous. Just focus on the child. So she smiled and shook her head. This her mouth didnt need to betray her in. No Sir, I was meet with a rather friendly young wolf that welcomed me right off it seemed. all of that was the truth. She did not come to harm. And thats what he asked. But the first part. Talk about guilds and if she met hers she shook her head. She meant to say she did. To Lie but her mouth had other ideas. I have not met any that called themselves a guild yet. she spoke honestly. And how she hated it. He then turned his attention to the pup. Who was still looking for Dingo. Her heart hurt slightly thinking about her missing someone. She was going to go ahead and assume it was her brother now. After all, if it was a guardian, she would be talking differently right? She knew she could be wrong, but she had a special place in her heart for siblings that were loyal. She wanted to believe it because that would make her better in her eyes. She asked if the wolf came from the stars and if he could help her get home. Feeling sad she spoke. Young one, that seems impossible, wolves arent from stars.. And I have yet to see a way out of this land. Not that I have looked to hard. But I too am missing someone, my brother Jack. But maybe we can look for them together? I can take care of you while we look. Her tongue spoke more honest then she again would have liked. But right now. She wasn't even paying to much attention to that. Jordan, Lirriel

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","morpheus"] “No Guide,” he echoed. Not that he could mull over her words for long – the pup was speaking again, something about stars: that he was a fallen star. Now that – that drew a chuckle from Morpheus, an amused squinting of his eyes. “I can do something of the kind,” he agreed. After all, were not gods and stars cut of the same cloth? Unreachable to mortals, unknowable, undying? No, wait. He thought he might have been told once that stars did die – but they were effectively immortal to creatures of limited lifespans, because a star’s death could happen centuries before it ever truly blinked out of existence. Like a ghost, lingering on. “Yes, I am not a star. I am a god. My name is Morpheus, and I watch over your dreams.” He smiled as he said it. The Dreamer did not consciously hand out dreams, of course. That required a wish strong enough to reach him – and it had been some time since he last answered one. Before his awakening as a guide, of that he was sure. But he could not explain it to a child. Instead, he offered something of a reprieve. “I cannot bring him here, but I can find him for you and tell you how he is doing. Or I might send him a dream, if you’d prefer.”His eyes turned to the blonde wolf. “I could also seek your brother, if you so wish it.” No, he had not been to that place in so long. But he knew the place as surely as if directions had been carved into his bones. He would have to slip into the God Realm, be displaced from his charges for a time – but if he could offer his newest mortal an easing of the heart, then he would do so. “Are your words that of a concerned elder or something more insidious?” he asked the blonde wolf softly. He would go, yes, but he had to ensure the pup was in capable paws. And this she-wolf was not one of his. “I cannot take this pup with me, but I cannot leave her with an unknown stranger, either.”[attr="class", "godling"] tags: Jordan, Damia Atsewords: 362 notes: this ended up being garbage sorry [newclass=.morpheus]max-height:440px;color:#E1DFD8;opacity:.8;margin-top:470px;text-align:justify;padding:15px;width:470px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:900;color:#F0F0D8;font-size:12px;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus i]color:#C0D860; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #2A2A2A; width:1px; [/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass][newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass][googlefont=Open+Sans]
