The fog had graciously lifted from his conscious only a few hours ago but the beast was in full control of his thoughts. It started with the first understanding of his immediate surroundings; the spacious view of the lake was a semi comfortingly familiarity laced with haunting memories. It was echoing with the silent songs of his home, sweet melodies filled with tales of old, before aching and broken howls of bodies drained of their souls called from the depths of his memories. Myrriah sat staring at the expanse dwelling in his past. He was silent as the few trees near him, still as the stones, motionless at the lake's surface. His poise was strong and regal, filled with determined survival. No one would stay him from his course. But... The brute's mind raced with a thousand thoughts. Everything that had happened in these past days was...confusing. Yet it all made sense. Normally he would have set to stay with the small Scrap, just to make sure no ill befell her. But with Quartz close by he feared little for Pepper's safety. She would be fine for a few days while he left to make sense of his purpose here.
He could feel it starting.

Perhaps an in-depth talk was due with Mitis soon. Sure, they were reunited after that short (but eternity-feeling) separation, but had they sat down to talk about the curses? No. Kicheko didn't even know if she was affected or not. If she was, it had yet to be revealed directly. Talking, though, was a challenge. Since Quartz, he really hadn't done much talking, if any. It felt better than spewing flowers. Of course, he hadn't managed to figure out that such wasn't the problem any longer. How could he when he refused to test it when speaking wasn't necessary at the moment?
He simply assumed.
The shape of another caught his attention, and directing his sights onto them, he noted yet another stranger. Something seemed to have their attention. Brown eyes took hold of the scenery ahead, and honestly, with assumption that was what took said attention, he couldn't blame the stranger. To him, anyways, it was something fresh and interesting. Homely, though? He doubted it. Lately he felt quite picky with what he found worth being called home or even a potential home.
Why was he still standing here? Was he hoping to meet someone new, and held the idea to grab the chance before him? Well, honestly, yes. Though, the idea of talking, though...it already made his stomach twist nervously, not only in anticipation of the discomforting result of flowers, but also the fact that the unusual curse, condition, whatever it was--it was just bizarre.
Then again, did he have much to lose? Nothing that could be lost from an embarrassing encounter. Besides, the slim chances of gaining something...And the discomfort? Such was temporary. It was just too rewarding in comparison. (And the comparisons were quite thin.) "It's a nice sight." He pointed out, anticipating it as he forced a smile to match his awkwardly hesitated approach. In the next moment, he would have been noting such awkwardness to himself, and how it compared to the way it felt starting over as a person the way he was. But something more important and astounding caught his attention.
No flowers. That made his smile easily more genuine, and he felt a bit of confidence surge through him as he'd straighten up his posture to match such. Maybe he just got lucky? Or was it truly what he hoped?

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","sunny"] Sundew was perturbed. Typically she was the epitome of exuberance and joy, but she was finding it difficult to be her normal, jolly self. A large part of it was ner new form. She had gone to sleep a young, but adult, wolf. When the sun's rays had woken her this morning, she had been shocked to find large, clumsy paws. A puppy! She knew this place with crazy, having recently played with a talking caribou, but this was something else entirely. Sundew thought briefly of Pepper, the skinny pup she had helped feed with Myrr. She had seemed too mature to be a pup. For the first time, Sundew wondered if maybe she hadn't been a pup after all. Was it all just some cosmic joke? Was this the way things would be from not on? Sunny wasn't sure, but she was able to reassure herself by remembering she would catch back up with herself in less than 2 years. Puppyhood had been one of the best parts of her life! Joke or not, perhaps it would nice to play with the unfettered joy of youth. Of course, in her youth, she had been safe and well-fed in the arms of her pack. Still, she seemed to be about the age that she had first tried hunting with the adults of her pack, so she was positive she could at least catch a marmot. The fat little creatures had entertained her and her siblings endlessly as pups. So she had started up into the mountains that surrounded the realm for the first time since her arrival. It seemed more like home here. The plants were small and hardy - shrubs, grasses, and small flowers. Boulders and rocks dotted the landscape, providing the perfect hiding place for marmots. There was the glimmer of a lake. Suddenly thirsty from her exertions, the pup bound through the low-lying vegetation, scrabbling over rocks with determination. Now that she had a goal and a worthy pastime, she was feeling much more like her old self. Small pings of joy seemed to fly from her heart to carpet the landscape, decreasing in intensity as distance increased. A scent brushed past her nose. There were other wolves at the lake. Not just any wolves. Well, one could be any wolf, but the other was Myrr! They had parted amicably after their elk hunt, with the black male tagging along after the little pup. Maybe he knew something about why she was a puppy! Excited, Sundew picked up the pace. However, because of the limitations of her puppy body, she quickly tripped and began to somersault down the bank toward the two older wolves. An oof! expelled out of her lips involuntarily before she sat up and looked around comically. "Myrriah!" she called out gleefully. A quick glance in the red male's direction made her feel a bit guilty. "And you! she added, equally excitedly. The suddenness in which another appeared set cold spikes through the brute though his features remained placid if irked. Deep bronze eyes met the brown of the other male with disinterest. Perhaps under any other circumstances a new face would more or less be welcomed. Right now, the beast just wanted a few hours alone with his finally working mind and this one seemed unsure of himself. Still, being with Pepper he had learned a bit more social skills. Thus his black lips parted in a neutral frown to say "Goodbye-" Wait... Before the male could fix his mistake another voice echoed across the lake. It sounded...familiar, but not? Then a fuzzy white body came tumbling down the slope to a halt by his large paws. This...was not good. "Sundew?" Was Pepper's curse contagious!? Would he be cursed with eternal puppy-ness soon? He had spent more time with the flecked female than this ball of incessant glee. "You're..old?" What!? Why wasn't his tongue working!? "Yes-wait..how? This is happening..."

Immediately, a cluster of confusion. Another stranger barged in, expressing uncertainty about some sort of situation. There was a lot to be questioning, at this point. He looked upon the juvenile (apparent, anyways) with a raised brow. Sure, they were cute, but the implications of unusual happenings was something to focus on. Could said child too have fallen into a curse? What sort, though? They seemed to speak just fine.
Then his head swiveled quickly so he looked back at the original, darker toned stranger. Goodbye? Irritation washed over him as he leaned towards his left, slightly. Of course, not every stranger would be polite or excited to converse. Why expect that? He did expect decent manners, though. Before he knew it, the other male was stumbling over a flurry of verbally expressed confusions. His dark lips pressed together tightly as he resisted a sharp exhale.
Something was strange, indeed, and Kicheko decided to take a moment to evaluate. Not only was the speaking male expressing sudden confusion upon speaking, but also, he called the child old. A child. She was anything but old. "Are you okay?" He questioned, baffled as he stared at said male, unable to stop the heavy bewilderment from expressing itself upon his face.

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","sunny"] After pulling herself up on her feet, Sundew found that she was still forced to stare up into the eyes of the other two wolves. She wasn't sure she liked being a pup again at all. Sure, it was a nice trip down memory lane, but she had finally grown big enough to go out on adventures by herself, and now that she was a puppy again, those adventurers would be much more dangerous. Could she die here? She'd never thought to ask Oberon. Until she found out, she'd just operate under the assumption that she couldn't. That was much more fun. Myrr was certainly surprised to see her new state. True to character, he bumbled his way through speaking. Sundew giggled. He had been silly last time they'd met too. At least this time he wasn't swaying around like he was about to topple over. "Old?! she exclaimed gleefully. "Silly Myrr, I'm young, not old!" She affectionately tried to headbutt his chest. She was moving clumsily enough that he could have easily avoided her, but she truly hoped he didn't. Myrr was a strange wolf, but she had taken a liking to hi with his slurred words and garbled sentences. It was almost like he was some kind of sphinx from a story, and every sentence was a riddle. Such fun! The other wolf, still a stranger to Sundew, wasn't as used to Myrr's shenanigans. Sunny transferred her attention and energy to the russet wolf, raking her eyes up and down his body as she did so. It was a shame she was stuck in this immature body - he was quite a handsome specimen! Myrr wasn't bad looking either, but he was much too silly for Sundew to look at that way. "Oh, don't worry about him, Myrr is always a bit strange," she said brightly, unconcerned with how Myrr might feel to be described as such. Instead, she grinned cheekily up at the other wolf. "I'm Sundew, who are you? I'm not really a puppy, ya know. At least I wasn't yesterday! This place sure is strange, isn't it?" Sundew turned wondering eyes at Myrr. Was he really strange? Or was it just something like her recent puppyhood? How could anyone know? The poor dear had such a hard time communicating. Well, Sundew could help with that! Of course, she didn't exactly know what he wanted to say, but she was sure she could guess!

Everything he said was coming out wrong. What kind of delusional wretch could beset such woes upon already toiled lives!? There was only one being that Myrr could think of who could take such joys out of others' misfortunes. "That angel..." Oh for the love of it all... Oh well, better try to fix things before they get worse. "I am shallowly not sorry..." Curses, curses, curses! "And yes, I am strange." That was it. The dark male clamped his mouth shut and squeezed his eyes closed, his face scrunching in the process. This was worse than not having control over his thoughts and emotions. At least then his mistakes were semi purposeful. This was just torture! In this stance he didn't bother to dodge the head butt to his thick furred chest. Instead, his only action was to place a large paw over to tiny frame of Sundew. The female he knew but this other male he did not. Despite everything that was going on, he took up the mantle of keeping yet another adult-turned-pup safe. Maybe leaving the Cradle was not such a good idea...

Teeth squeezed at his tongue tensely as he listened to the pup...not-pup, apparently? As she spoke, claiming she wasn't truly the age she appeared. What was that one phrase others used to make note of something creepily familiar? He didn't spend long searching for said phrase, not because he found it, but because it hardly mattered. The situation itself mattered. If he hadn't experienced his share of magical anomalies in the past, he may be inclined to deny such claims, given Sundew, as he overheard her name to be, spoke with youthful energy. Though...so did he at a time, despite having been of age. His stomach twisted upon being reminded of such for so many reasons.
Dark eyes traveled to the dark male as more words--rude--spewed from his maw. He was starting to wonder if he had the patience at the moment to deal with this. Of course not everyone would be polite and cooperative. With assumptions given words were that of sarcastically nasty intentions, he creased his maw with a soft scoff. "Yeah. Strange." He dryly agreed as his mind worked to figure out how to handle this. His pupils shifted slightly so the sky was in his view, just for a moment, as he dared recall how unpleasant this all felt. Being in this foreign land, not knowing much about the land itself or how the residents were. It took him ages to learn how things worked socially and politically where he and Mitis traveled from.
He allowed himself a bit of a break--took a deep breath before focusing his attention on who left him in less of vexation. "I'm Kicheko. What do you mean, you're not really a puppy?" A brow would arch in question. Though the majority of his attention was on Sundew now, Myrr, as Sundew had addressed the other, remained on the side of his focus--Kicheko even being as careful as to keep the male's face in his peripheral vision.

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","sunny"] Sundew let Myrr take a protective stance over her. She didn't really mind. He was an old bear of a wolf, or at least he seemed so to her eyes, but he was kind. Besides, they had hunted and killed together. To Sundew, they might as well be pack. Still, she left herself giggle at his comments. He made less and less sense everytime he opened his mouth. Oh yes, Myrr was fun. Why, he might even be the most fun wolf she had met so far! Certainly more fun than that dour little pup, Pepper. He wasn't nearly as handsome as Oberon, but Oberon was a god. What do you expect? As the black and grey wolf leaned protectively over her, Sundew felt a new instinct dancing at the back of her mind. She was sending out waves of joy, she was sure of that now. It was more than your everyday smile, too, although that always spread joy. This was something more, something deeper. It felt as if she could reach out, not physically, but with something... else. Reach out and do... what? Nothing bad. She could never do anything bad. Something good? Sunny grasped Myrr's meager sense of joy that he felt merely from her presence. Grasped it and grew it. Changed it. Made it more than it had been. There. Maybe now Myrr would be in a bit of a better mood. Belatedly, Sundew realized she hadn't really been paying attention to the new wolf, Kicheko. Once she clued back in, the white pup couldn't help herself. She rolled her eyes. Then giggled. "Oh my, you're a little silly too. I mean I woke up this morning and I was a puppy! Yesterday I was almost Myrr's size! Do you think it was something I ate?" Who knew, maybe there were magic plants and animals here that could change a wolf's size? Some god may have grown them to shrink down to mortal size and left them lying about. Quite irresponsible. Were all gods as big as Oberon? If not there was at least one hole in her theory. tags: Myrr Kicheko Faraja words: 356 notes: super sorry for the wait!
