She’d walked in darkness for some time. Eventually, she wasn’t sure whether her eyes adjusted or if it was the sudden appearance of the purple glow from the crystals, she found she could see well enough to make her way through the cave. Quartz drew in a deep breath. The air in this place was suppressing, but she couldn’t – wouldn’t – back out now. She did her best to keep the image of the desert Oberon described in her mind. Nighttime with a silver moon…fortunately not a hard landscape to remember. She just had to focus on it.

Of course, focus itself was an issue in a place like this, but she was doing her best. Focus, keep breathing, and keep putting one paw in front of the other. She could handle that. It bothered her that she could no longer see Oberon, but that couldn’t be for long, right? Maybe the True God Realm was just up ahead, and she needed to focus a little more. She continued walking, the picture in her mind as clear as she could make it.
