Things remained dark and silent for a while. She was almost certain she’d been rejected, and was unsure of how to proceed from here. It was so dark and the air was so thick…would she even be able to find her way back? But then the air shifted around her, and her paws felt relief in the soft sands under them. Quartz took a moment to get a good luck at her surroundings – more dunes than she’d imagined, but yeah this was almost exactly the way she’d imagined the place to be. So this was part of the True God Realm, huh? Was it supposed to be the best of the lands? She could think of several other places she’d rather be, but it wasn’t bad. Just a bit…well…lifeless for her tastes. But of course that was her feeling about the area. A god of life needed a lush environment, didn’t she? But she’d worry about that later. Oberon was waiting for her. She dipped her head to the dog, ears and tail lowered. She’d made it this far, right? What was next? [googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","ilostyou"] It had been a while since Oberon had returned to the Sea of Sand, what with all the new mortals that had started flooding into the realm. But it was always a welcome relief for him to visit the endless desert, with its soft sands that felt cool underfoot and the moon's gentle gaze that cast everything in a pleasant, silvery light. Perhaps such a place existed too on mortal earth, but Oberon felt that calm solitude such as this was rare to find.
He stirred the sands that lay cool beneath his paws, watching the grains sift and slide, pulling them downward in a spiralling whirlpool before returning the surface of the dune to pristine, windswept smoothness. The way it poured so fluidly yet was made of earth as dry and solid ever... There was nothing like it anywhere else. The sand on the coast was waterlogged and clumpy, though its upper surface did dry out under the bleaching heat of the midday sun, but its job was to bank the crashing waves, not lay in the eternal quiet of this desert night. Coming here was refreshing. After dozens of new mortals and their tumultuous emotions, it was a very appreciated peace.
But today he was not here to rejuvenate himself under the silver light of the moon. Today he was supervising one of his charges on their first foray into the God Lands. Quartz would be arriving shortly - or not so shortly, depending on how the passage wanted to judge her. But Oberon had sensed that she was close to the full first tier of divinity, if not already there, and knew that the passage would find no trouble. It would search her and come up with nothing, and she would come out the other side safely.
As expected, the female soon appeared on the sands just a little ways away from him. She greeted him with no words, just a polite nod, so he began immediately.
"You made it," he remarked, a tiny hint of pride in his tone. "I now welcome you to the Sea of Sand, which is just one of the many God Lands." Casting his gaze around at the quiet desert, the silence made comfortable by the gently whispering winds, he continued. "Now that you have more or less attained divinity, these lands are free for you to roam as you please. They are nothing like the lands you were born on, and the lands you have just come from - if you focus, you will sense the vein of power that flows through it. It would benefit you to explore here, too, intrepid one. There are many different places here that lend their environments to different purposes - for example, I come here often to meditate. And meditating here may further enlighten you on what other biomes there are for you to discover." [attr="class","ilostyoubottom"] @quartz | 482 | Usually I'd say yeah but I know this is kind of a serious thread so I'll let it not be active for this thread lol. Also sorry for super late post because I've been busy as hell the past two weeks |

Oberon seemed pleased with her. Her tailtip swished a few times, though it stilled as soon as he started speaking again. He welcomed her to the Sea of Sand, and she looked around, taking in the desert of eternal night. Winds aside, there was an odd sort of stillness here, wasn’t there? A stillness that just wasn’t present in the mortal world. She wasn’t entirely sure she liked it…maybe she needed to get used to it? Her powers had grown to the point where she was allowed to roam freely here. Perhaps she should do just that, see what lands composed the True God Realm. It would do her some good to see as much of it as possible, maybe find a land she liked more than the others and start looking for a good densite there. As a god, she would have to live here and leave the mortal realm, wouldn’t she? Well, barring the occasional visit. Oberon mentioned the vein of power flowing through here. She tried to focus like he said, and there certainly was something there. Something that should probably scare her, though for now she felt weirdly numb. An effect of traveling across realms for the first time, perhaps? Or maybe she was just overwhelmed. Oberon instructed her to explore these realms as she had the mortal lands, and she nodded. Lingering here and seeing what she could as soon as she could seemed like a better idea the more she considered it. “Thank you,” she responded when he finished speaking. Meditating might be the best first step, even, though she wasn’t sure what promise the desert held for someone with her affinities. “Is there anything specific I should be seeking while I’m here?” And what would his role in her life be from now on? Was this it, then, or was there more for her to learn from him? It felt weird to think of him as anything other than her mentor, though logically she knew his time of overseeing her growth would come to an end. Ray
