The world started in darkness, and to darkness, it returned.
From the dawn of time, mankind knew they were not alone. They worshipped the sky, the trees. They laid out offerings in the roots and knolls of trees, pleading to the powers-that-be for bountiful harvest, fertile wives and blessed battles. But over the years, their faith waned. And with it, so did their beliefs in the others; creatures who lived among them. Creations of their Gods, blessed with their magic and strength.
For many years, humanity had convinced themselves that creatures of legend and lore were little more than fantasy. Until one day, they couldn't.
A war broke out between the supernaturals and humans in 2018. What started as small, contained outbreaks became a world-wide epidemic. And soon, not much was left.
The world was left in ruins, holding onto a fraction of its prior technological glory. The wildlife reclaimed the land. A century later, the supernatural population has dwindled while humanity still thrives, forcing the supernaturals to hide in small communes, secluded and protected by the safe haven the wilderness offers. Many communities have failed to colonize, but not Soglasie. They, despite their rather staunch laws and archaic rules of engagement are rather progressive, allowing supernatural sympathizers to live amongst them. They believe that the best way forward is to work with the humans.
It is now 2118, and Soglasie's borders are in peril. But in a time of great strife, their infrastructure threatens to crumble under the weight of an untrusting populace and a corrupt governing body. There are dissenters amongst them–those who would welcome an end to the war, even at the cost of their extinction.
