CONSTANTINE"An eye for an eye and the world goes blind." Actions. "Speach." 'Thoughts' A thin, emaciated bundle of gray fur lay washed up on the Broken Coast, its body half submerged in the gentle rolling tide and half resting upon the sandy shore. From a distance, it appeared incredibly still and alarmingly thin, resembling something of a corpse that must be rotting from the inside… However, upon closer inspection, though still very much undernourished, one could see the creature’s sides and back slowly heaving with every breath, suggesting it was at least… alive… A low groan emitted from the man’s throat, a sign of his body weakly clawing its way back to consciousness. His waterlogged tail twitched, his toes furled and unfurled. and his mouth gently opened and closed, like a fish out of water, as he tried to get smoe feeling back into his system. Being born with his condition. he was not one to immediately open his eyes and look around, but rather one to lay still and simply feel, hear, and smell what was around him. He could feel the cool water that encased his hind parts and coolly caressed his back each time the tide rolled in, he could smell the salt and sea brine beneath his nose, and he could hear the crashing of the waves upon the shore… all before he would even think to slowly blink open his blind eyes and groggily lift his head. All of these triggers to his senses painted the image of an ocean in his mind… which immediately jarred the wolf and forced him to sit bolt upright, a quiet gasp in his throat that quickly turned into a racking cough; it seemed he may have accidentally taken in some water and/or sand while knocked out… His pack. Those crazy morons. They’d… they’d tossed him from the cliff… right into the ocean, where they believed the bloody Gods would save him, as some final test of his true “connection” to them… Absolute nonsense. He was lucky to be alive… but… where was he? A strange sense of familiarity tickled the back of his neck, one that he’d always felt before, being a man that had to feel his way around an environment rather that look… but this felt… stronger… and that didn’t really make any sense. He should be on some completely foreign shore, a long, long way away from anything he’d ever known. How could this feel familiar? It must be panic, he thought, feeling his heart starting to beat faster in his chest. He didn’t like being somewhere new, completely alone, and unable to see where it was… “‘Ello?” He gruffly called out into “the darkness”, still coughing a little bit and sounding somewhat breathless. Maybe someone was around that could at least tell him where he was… Or… try to kill him. That too.

Starting out life is free and full of promise. Like a young bird. It looks out into the big wide world and takes the leap of faith. He isn’t exactly sure how to fly or take care of itself; yet he understands he must try. A little duckling whose mother had nested high, in the hole of a tall tree. It was his time. He was the lone diver. A quick dive to the forest floor and he could be on with the rest of his life. He looked over to his siblings gathering beside the edge of the water. A quick look to his waiting mother duck a few steps away from the water. He steeled himself and dove. Free falling felt differently than anything he had felt or would feel in his life. Sad for him the day was going to be far more scary than this jump. The trap sprung at that moment. The commotion began. An alarming warning screech to her brood. A scuffle of feathers, teeth and then silence. Achlys closed his jaws around the neck in quick order and he watched as most of the ducklings had scurried into the cool water swimming frantic. He had watched and waited. His children were planned to be waiting for the last duck, and Achlys was to spring from the reeds at that moment. His first attempt to teach them something. A second of remorse was replaced with his mantra. I survived and seem to be doing fine in life. They will grow up stronger and more wise. Black and dark grey ears perked at the quacking of the duckling from the tree. His children were supposed to grab him. He turned his eyes away from the water only to be greeted by the absence of the familiar. A roar met his ears, but it was of waves and wind; the sea. He had long since dropped the fresh kill as his head jerked back to see the fleeing ducklings had been replaced with the ocean. He wondered if he was dreaming, not very creative as far as his dreams went. Especially lately. He wasn’t going to waste his earned meal though, attention shifting back to the prize before his feet. He would’ve settled straight into eating had it not been for the sound of one of his kind. He heard Constantine call out and was shocked he had not noticed him prior. He picked up the still warm duck and walked the short distance towards the figure. ”It looks like you could benefit more from this than me.” From the look of things, Achlys could go without. He tossed it towards him, oblivious of the condition to Constantine sight, Achlys was displaying no outward dominance. Maybe this fellow, if he owned this land, would accept this as a peace offering.

CONSTANTINE"An eye for an eye and the world goes blind." Actions. "Speach." 'Thoughts' Acute gray ears swiveled and twitched to the sound of approaching paw steps, yet Constantine wasn’t quick enough to identify them before a voice called out, slicing through the silence and causing the thin man to jump and turn his head with faint alarm. “It looks like you could benefit more from this than me,” the muffled voice remarked, alarmingly close and growing closer. The stranger sounded as if he were holding something, and this was confirmed by the sound of that something making a dull thud on the ground in front of him shortly afterwards, suggesting it had been promptly dropped. Constantine’s face was deadpan. “What?” He bluntly spat, needing this wolf to be more specific about what “this” was. The way his milky blue gaze didn’t shift downward to follow the duck and the way he didn’t quite make eye contact with the stranger but vaguely stared past him alluded to the fact that he couldn’t see. Ebony nostrils flared then, sifting through the scents on the wind and picking up the overwhelming smell of waterfowl beneath him, which only roused a sense of confusion. He was pretty damn sure they were near the ocean… ducks didn’t live in the ocean… “Is it a duck?” Only now did he look down, doing so to try and get a better whiff of what was before him, not to actually look at it of course. “Who are you? Where am I?”

The coast continually was pounded by the waves rushing in and back out. The sounds would have been completely relaxing in most situations. Right now? It was starting to almost unnerve the darker colored newcomer.
Upon his original approach the fact that Constantine had not turned to view his approach had gone entirely unnoticed. A few moments later after tossing the rabbit, Achlys at last understood. After making the connection he listened and watched intently. “Is it a duck?” He could help but theorize about how this seemingly fragile one could still be surviving. How was he able to live through life? An emotion that at this point was still unidentifiable was trying to worm into Achlys conscious. Feeling for another, putting yourself in their figurative shoes, he had never attempted to cultivate those lines of thinking. Something surely most have been wrong, for he wasn’t recognizing his own self. Why was he so concerned with another’s plight. He reminded himself that he had provided a generous gift. A mind already confused he rationalized was bound to act strangely. He snapped back to reality upon the word “Where am I?”
Curious. Thing had just become a bit more intriguing. He wondered where such a mighty ocean had come from, or had he come? At the moment he began to quiet the multiple questions threatening to surface and replied. “My name is Achlys, I meant the offering as a peaceful gesture.”
Pausing momentarily he glanced back toward the ocean, his mind drifting back to the commotion of his former water view. It had been lackluster compared to this seemingly endless ocean. Something felt different, almost a humming or vibration within. He turned back to look at the male before him. He realized that his attempt at a greeting, may not actually have been much of an attempt. Clearing his throat he continued. “Forgive my brash entrance if you will.” Quickly adding “I’m not sure about the where you are part. Truthfully, I’m not sure how I ended up here….wherever here actually is.”

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","morpheus"] Two at once. The thought rippled through Morpheus’ mind, scattering the rest of his thoughts like a hawk plunged among a field of rabbits. And, less startling: Oh, the sea…The brine of it stung his nose, coated his throat, made him taste salt with each swallow he took. Morpheus paused on pebbled ground, watching the waves roll in, languid and lazy. Much of the stretch he overlooked was rocky and rough-going, but patches of darkened sand stood here and there. Stepping carefully, almost primly, he climbed across the uneven ground, his movements graceful to the point he seemed almost to float. So at ease was he with this uneven terrain, that he did not once pause to check his steps. Instead he strode with a quiet confidence, his eyes swiveling, ears flicking, as he strained to catch some sense of his charges. He could feel them – one crackling with something that felt jumpy and itchy and alive, the other similar to him but more pure, more streamlined. Not that the feeling of them was enough to pinpoint their locations – what finally led him in their direction was the sound of their voices, not quite drowned out by the soft shushing of the ocean as it kissed the land. As it was, he drew close enough to hear the rumpled grey’s query and the darker male’s uncertain reply. He drew closer, bowing his head to the pair when he was close enough for them to notice, close enough for them to see, saying softly, “This ‘here’ you speak of marks the boundary between the mortal realm and the divine. I am Morpheus, the God of Dreams.”He smiled slightly, an almost wry expression overtaking the sincerity that painted his words, adding, “And it seems I am Guide to you both.”[attr="class", "godling"] tags: Constantine, Achlys Revinwords: 300 notes: he doesn't know constantine is blind yet lol [newclass=.morpheus]height:440px;color:#E1DFD8;opacity:.8;margin-top:470px;text-align:justify;padding:15px;width:470px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus b]font-family:montserrat;font-weight:900;color:#F0F0D8;font-size:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus i]color:#C0D860; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #2A2A2A; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.morpheus::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass] [googlefont=Open+Sans]

CONSTANTINE"An eye for an eye and the world goes blind." Actions. "Speach." 'Thoughts' Constantine quirked an impatient brow towards the stranger before him, still waiting for confirmation on whether or not the thing at his feet was, in fact, a duck. He received none though, the other just offering his name and explaining that the mysterious “it” was meant as a “peaceful offering”. A scoff was given to this, sightless blue eyes rolling. “Yeah, ‘cuz I look soooo intimidatin’.” Still, even if he thought the notion of a peace offering was silly, he’d never be one to turn down food, ever. He was starving, and has been in such a state for most of his life; at that point, you learn to stop being picky and just take whatever gets handed to you. So, figuring he’d just trust his nose and assume it was a duck, and then figuring it didn’t make a difference anyway as food was food, the thin gray man wasted no time in dropping his muzzle and gracelessly tearing off one of the creature’s wings, delighting in the smell of freshly torn flesh and the sound of snapping bones. As he set about beginning his meal, his ears remained perked to what the other was saying to him. Hm. Achlys. The name didn’t sound familiar, so that was already pretty telling about how far he must be from his home. Good. He hoped he’d never seen those crazy mongrels ever again… However, what this Achlys said next was curious and a bit concerning. “I’m not sure about the where you are part. Truthfully, I’m not sure how I ended up here….wherever here actually is.”Constantine’s brows furrowed, his now red-stained muzzle pulling out of the duck and vaguely pointing up the male in front of him, lip curling. “How can you not know how you got here? I was dumped into the bloody ocean and washed up on shore, but I’m gonna assume you came here of your own volition.” ‘Unless mine isn’t the only culture that likes making Godly sacrifices,’ he inwardly scoffed. Then… the soft sound of another’s approaching paw steps only faintly tickled the hairs of Constantine’s ears, and even then, they were drowned out by the expectant silence weighing between himself and Achlys, as well as the waves crashing onto the shore… The only thing to alert him of the newcomer’s presence was a vague feeling, almost electric, of someone else being in the area, and this too still wasn’t properly identified by the blind man until the “stranger” spoke, forcing himself to be known... “This ‘here’ you speak of marks the boundary between the mortal realm and the divine. I am Morpheus, the God of Dreams.”A heavy silence seemed to fall after that, in unison with Constantine’s heart. Well… I’ll be damned, he thought, blood running cold and eye widening, his muzzle slowly turning to face the, again, vague direction of Morpheus. Of course he had his reasons to be skeptical, having long lost his attachment to the Gods after years of being brought close to death just so he could “speak” to them… but damn if it didn’t all just make too much sense. Had it actually worked? Had he actually been tossed into that blasted ocean and really was washing up at the doorstep of the Gods’ realm…? He could hear his heart pounding in his ears, along with a growing, sickening sense of realization. “And it seems I am Guide to you both.”A bitter expression seized his features, portraying nothing short of contempt. “Well ya can take him,” he tossed his head in Achlys general direction. “I don’t need no damn guidin’.” His muzzle turned back down to eat his duck, intent on just ignoring the situation at hand until he was actually ready to accept it.

It didn’t seem that Achlys had caught Constantine questioning the identity of what was tossed. A pattern that had seemed to layer itself in the quilt of his life, ignorance could be bliss for him at times. Early years for him contained little to no supervision. Lessons and training being practically non existent. His sheer dumb luck at finding a pack willing to take him in had resulted with the untimely death of their leader. He refused to believe that he wasn’t safe, yet the real stirrings of rebellion had been stirring. It hadn’t seemed to matter in the end though how oblivious he was to the obvious, he was no where near his land of birth now it seemed. Achlys catalogued his reaction to the simple offering as what that male must have been through. He hadn’t guessed that Constantine would react in that quite a manner. Where he came from your size and ability was not always essential to be strong, or in a position of power. It all depended on who and where your friends were positioned in life. The nub of what remained of his tail stiffened as he reclined to sit. It still was like he could felt it, every once in a while the tingle of a feeling was there, but it mostly it was numb in earnest. Ears perked forward at the approach of Morpheous. He listened as the God of dreams spoke. Again he listened as Constantine spoke. Confusion not able to be concealed layered his face with a certain concern. But a snort was the only noise at first to escape. “I don’t know how I got to this damned divide Morsefus..or Morphy…whatever it was that you said your name was. I was at home moments again, no offense meant but I’m not in the mood to be guided. I’m in the mood to get back to what I call home not this land of dreams…between realms.” The urge was resisted to add you crazy fart even as his almost indigent anger climbed. Achlys was not willing to test any limits though. Mentally he had made up his mind, nonsense was not going to be tolerated and he simply wasn’t going to stay her any longer. He turned away sharply then and started to walk away from the pair beside him. Every thought inside was of walking until he died or reached home…clueless to the obvious. There might not be a way home. ”speech” Word Count: 408 tags: @lirriel Constantine Ooc: Achlys is just not having it haha. Sorry for length of wait on this one.

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","morpheus"] A pair of nonbelievers. Compared to the others – well, at least neither had invaded his space. Morpheus tilted his head, spiraling horns scraping the sky as he considered both. “Morpheus,” he said softly as the black wolf stumbled over his name. He was not overly perturbed by the disrespect both spat at him. But he was not willing to adopt a new name – after all, without his memories, all he really had was the name attached to the body. “My name is Morpheus.”His eyes flickered to rest on the dark wolf, crystalline blue meeting the creature’s more mortal hue. Then his attention turned to the one that stood over the duck, hunched up as if he expected a blow to land against him. Every part of him was defensive, and Morpheus sighed. “It does not work that way,” he said. “You cannot escape. You shall both become gods. And I shall either assist you or allow you to stumble your way through the dark, uncertain and afraid.”His voice had been carefully neutral, but there was a sharp edge to his tone as he continued, “I have dealt with enough of your kind already. I shall not force you to accept my help. If you do not wish it, then shall I take my leave?”He raised one paw, body already curled toward the north, as if it was eager to set foot once more into the Black Forest. At the beginning perhaps he would have held more patience in his breast. But here were two mortals already found – surely they could care for one another and did not need him. CONSTANTINE"An eye for an eye and the world goes blind." Actions. "Speach." 'Thoughts' Alright… Maybe not. Constantine detected with faintly astonished amusement that his “companion” Achlys was just as unreceptive to this idea as he was, even going as far as to slander the God’s name (intentionally or not, the blind man couldn’t tell) and firmly state that the only place he wanted to be “guided” was home. It then sounded as if he were walking away from them, suggesting he’d just given up on the conversation entirely, hardly even giving Morpheus a chance to explain himself. Doubt seemed heavily laced in the other’s tone, which anyone else might be able to pick up on and assume this wolf to be a nonbeliever, and that’s why he was storming off in a huff… but Constantine, having practically been drowned in religious teachings since the moment he could comprehend the spoken word, didn’t have a mind open enough to realize there might actually be some people out there that simply didn’t believe. Surely everyone knew about the Gods, right? This man was surely just angry because he was lost and confused about how he ended up here, not because he thought all of this to be complete and utter nonsense? Either way, the ex prophet gave an almost mocking snort at the other’s boldness and attempt at going on without any clue as to where he was, knowing quite well that one didn’t just simply go back after entering the God’s realm… or the place inbetween it and the mortal realm, rather…. and quite frankly, a God probably was the only way he’d be getting back. “Good luck wif dat!” He sarcastically called out, words muffled by his meal and perhaps a bit louder than they needed to be, since he couldn’t really gage how far away Aclys was now. Now the God spoke once more, and Constantine glanced in the direction of his voice, sightless blue eyes narrowing slightly. Apparently this Morpheus was adamant in his belief that they would be staying, he would guide them on their path, and they would become gods…. unless they so chose to turn away him away and forgo the journey on their own. A wry smirk peeled across the thin man’s blood-stained muzzle, his gaze dull and still quite unconcerned. “That so?”Hm. Yeah, no, Godhood was not what he was here for. He’d been tossed into that blasted ocean by his peers for the sake of testing his “connection” to the Gods, and though he now had to question the validity of said connection because he’d actually been saved, that didn’t mean he intended to continue carrying out his duty. As far as he was concerned, those crazy loons could go throw themselves off that cliff if they loved the Gods so much… He was a free man now, and if he could help it, had no intention of ever going back. Not to them, and not to their religion, which just so happened to encompass everything this man was trying to sell him. So thanks, but no thanks; he’d take his chances. “Fine by me, pal,” he carelessly jeered. “Been stumblin’ my way through the dark this long, I think I’ll be fine. Go shed your ‘Godly Righteousness’ on someone who cares.”-- Achlys Revin Lirriel it's okay; at the end of the day, we know constantine's the real butt here lmao

Achlys Revin had set his mind. Upon seeing the form of Morpheous. No. It wasn’t so. In a dream perhaps. But to him, no this wasn’t happening. For now the mechanism of denial began to shift, lock, and click in place. ”Thanks don’t need luck, I’ll survive just fine Morph-e-ous.” The retort came boldly, the e staggered, lingering to long. Never was a believer and wasn’t about to become one at the slightest wag of the jaws he steamed silently as the mostly black body carried him farther away from the pair. Dealing with this would have to wait he had decided, a lay of the land and hopefully a way back home would be found before that had to happen. Continuing on along the crashing coast the black male continued to pad away. A feeling couldn’t be shaken however…a vibration occurring within him? It had to be nerves, or cold? No not cold, just buzzing with an unknown energy. tags: Lirriel Constantine words: 158 notes: Ehh I'm really sorry for length but I act like a kid when I'm sick most of the time. Achlys just wasn't having it though. #Hegone Maybe towards the mountains eventually haha.
