I want to teach you a lesson
In the worst kind of way
Run, run, run...
Selkie stirred, groaning at the sharp pain jolting through her skull once then twice before fading as quickly as it had come. Had she been dreaming? It had felt too real to have been just a dream. A distant memory? That, too, felt unlikely. Mustering what little strength she had at the moment, Selkie had got up from where she had laid, shaking off what was left of the sensation only to replace it with a sudden chill -- a numbness that was making her skin crawl. A thick fog blanketed the dark area limiting her vision to a mere five feet in front of her. Lifting her snout up to take in the surrounding smells did little to help. It was far too cold and the scent of fresh plants was overwhelming her keen sense of smell which, left her with one logical conclusion.
Yes, she was in a forest somewhere.
The wolf exhaled sharply, making up her mind to venture deeper into the heart of the woodland in search of shelter. There was no point in trying to think hard on how she had ended up there. The dull throbbing of her head wouldn't allow her to do so currently anyways. Even with the fog obscuring her sight, light still shone through the forest in warm colors of deep reds and rich oranges signifying that dusk was well on it's way. Wandering around alone in the shadows of a foreign forest was one way to invite death. Avoiding it was her life's ambitions and tonight was no different.
