The sudden and stark change in character would have immediately been noted by any competent wolf, but Myrr was lost in his intoxicated state with wild hunger. No, he was not as famished as the child but certainly had missed a few days of meals due to the curse. Thus, he paid little mind to anything other than the opportunity to move from the torn breasts to the throat below the jaw. If the snapping transition hit home, strong, hungry jaws would close on the cow's trachea in attempt to crush it. Once latched on the male would throw his weight to drag the female's head to ground, hopefully making her knell and keeping her from either effectively retaliating or escaping.

[googlefont=Montserrat] [attr="class","hunt"] [attr="class", "godling"]Doe Elk Challenge Rating: Normal HP: 00 / 50 Reward: 20 EVO Points [attr="class","hunt5"] In its final moments, the doe felt only pain – but it was pain transformed to its most powerful: overwhelming, bright, obliterating every other sense and sensation. The white wolf tore open her stomach with hungry precision, splattering the ground in blood and leaking organs, gravity dragging her insides toward the hard dirt ground.
So sudden was the pain, so sudden was weakening of her limbs, that she had barely begun to sink when the big male lunged for her throat – caught it, between his great jaws – speeding her descent until she fell sideways, pulling him with her, and crumbled to the ground like a dying titan.
If there was any salvation for her, it was that she was not the one who experienced the cruel reality of death. Of being eaten alive, of having your guts swinging from your belly – no, all of those fears, those terrors, were instead projected directly onto Pepper, the smallest of the wolves.
And it might have been a sort of revenge, had the doe known terror to desire retribution. But as it was, she died as she had lived – with a lightness about her heart. Though in truth the lightness was the emptying of her veins, the great gushing of her blood.
Then she no longer thought and the fear that had connected her to Pepper was abruptly snapped. They had taken down a mighty creature effortlessly – but was the price worth it?
OOC: No rolls due to last round's guarantee. Turns out Pepper's #Take is very powerful for hunting mortal prey.

Post by Sundew on Jul 11, 2018 16:08:20 GMT
Blood gushed into Sunny's mouth as the elk's tough hide parted before her sharp fangs. It was hot and thick, salty and sweet, coppery and delicious. There was nothing as satisfying as a fresh kill. Every time a wolf brought death, they also brought life. Life for themselves, for the pack, for their pups now and future. In every darkness, there is a thing of great beauty and joy. Sundew could feel sorrow for the elk. Indeed, she almost felt ashamed at the ease of the kill. It seemed dirty, somehow, without the great equalizer of a chase, without the thrill of her heart pumping wildly, without feeling the pack flow around her, all working toward a single goal. It was rare for two wolves to take out an elk alone, even such large wolves as Sundew and Myrr. Still, Sunny knew that she would always value the lives of other wolves, especially those she considered her friends, above the life of any other animal. It was by giving aid and helping each other that wolves truly elevated themselves. There was something greater than honor in working together as a pack to hunt and eat. There was life. There was joy. Sundew ripped her jaws from the young doe's side and threw her bloody head back. An ecstatic howl burst, unbidden, from her throat. At this moment, joined once more with wolves as she had not been since she left her pack, she found her happiness to be simply uncontainable. The howl subsided quickly into an exuberant laugh. Gore dripped down the white fur of her chest as she turned violet eyes on the young pup. "Come on, Pepper, it's doe-licious!" Giggling, she winked at Myrr over the carcass. She always got a bit giddy after a hunt, but it seemed as if her emotions were so exaggerated in this crazy place. 316 WORDS FOR Myrr AND Pepper ― i'm good with ending it here unless there's anythign ya'll want to add!

[googlefont=Roboto][googlefont=Montserrat][googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","pepper"] At this point, the small structure of skin and bones was crumbled onto the ground. Each muscle shook violently whilst the icy grip of death chipped over each nerve. It was all so real despite the lack of pain. Warm blood oozing from her throat and stomach - consciousness quickly fading away. Pepper wasn't ready to die. Each cell in her body rebelled violently against the shadowy claws; in the end, it resulted in the pup curled up into a tight, quivering ball as terror-filled tears spilled across her checks. This was by far one of the worst feelings she had ever experienced. So strong, so sure, it choked out any logical thought that tried to wiggle free. And then, finally, it all fell away. Pepper was left with only her own shocked state to deal with. It still took her a bit to gather the broken shards of her psyche, but eventually the frail being's stubby legs found the ground once more. Watery eyes looked over to the fallen doe to confirm what had already been concluded. They had done it. She wouldn't be dying today at least. It should of been a joyous moment, but she didn't feel much like celebrating. Sundew coaxed her over with what seemed to be her usual giddy tone. "Thank you." The words were granted to both the male and female whom had aided her in bringing down their prey. A gracious dip of her small cranium followed soon after the pup made her way over to the carcass. Before digging in, despite the saliva that quickly built, a customary prayer was given to the life that had been taken - a thanks and a blessing for smooth passage into the next life. Only afterward did Pepper hungrily feast upon the doe. She had to eat from parts that had already been punctured seeing as the teeth she currently adorned weren't strong enough to break hide. tags: Myrr Sundew words: 321 notes: sounds good ; pepper's closing post [newclass=.pepper]max-height:400px;color:#E1DFD8;text-align:justify;padding:10px;width:440px;font-family:Open Sans;font-size:10px;overflow:auto;background:#000;opacity:.5[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper b]color:#843a30;text-shadow: 0px 0px 2px;font-family:montserrat;letter-spacing:1px;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper i]color:#dc2f18; font: 11px Roboto; font-style: italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color: #fff; width:1px; [/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px; height: 5px; background: #ccc; border: 3px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.pepper::-webkit-scrollbar-corner]background: #ccc; border: 2px solid #ccc;[/newclass]

Vice like grip held onto the soft neck of the creature until the throb of its heart ceased and the struggled gaps ended. But even then he held on. He had seen young wolves release still living prey from the death grip only to loose a meal and go hungry much to a pack's aggravation. That mistake was not his; not in this moment. The happy celebrating of the ivory huntress was simply given a scowl before bronze eyes locked onto the trembling scrap. The poor thing was in a state of shock. Why? Surely it was not the scene of a kill...right? Something deep and unsettled in the male prompted him to over and stand by the now feasting whelp. Some form of protectiveness. Why? He had cared little for the raising and well being of the young; it had never been his job. But now... The brute simply sat by and waited for the tiny figure to gorge on the still warm meat before he even dipped his head to lick at the feast. Why...?
TAG: Pepper, SundewOOC: Okay. There's my last word. I guess that makes this thread a wrap.
